Hello dear Hiveians...
this is my first time effort in the "Art challenge" of Splinterlands community.
This artwork is inspired by a famous mythical figure of my homeland "Indonesia", especially in Central Java province, the place where I originally came from.
Indonesia is a country full with paradox. It is known as the biggest moslem population in the world and in Java the moslems also hold the dominance in the society, neverthless people are still believe in so many mythical figures: deities, ghosts, demons, etc and some people even whorsip them.
For example the object of my artwork today is "Nyai Blorong". She is the strongest vanguard of the Southern Sea (Indian Ocean), the right hand of Ratu Kidul "The mythical Queen of the Southern Sea" and the protector off Java. Nyai Blorong is known as a beautiful princess with a snake body.
The Javanese believe that people can gain wealth by making a life&death contract with her. Each friday once a month (to be exact it is once in 35 days according to javanese calendar, called "jumat kliwon") the princess would come for a visit and would request a love making session with the contract partner.
After the night has ended the princess would leave him her scales which would then turn into gold. However the contract partner would be required to give the demon princess a human soul as a sacrifice.
After the contract partner died, his soul would also be taken away by the demon princess to join her army.
This belief is still living rather strong in my homeland, so whenever there is a person who is suddenly becoming very rich without any plausible explanation, there would certainly be rumours floating around in the neighbourhood :-D.
Well, enough with the myth, now I would like to show you the drawing process of our snake demon "Nyai Blorong".
I would be very very happy if this figure someday in the future could inspire the project team of Splinterlands to make a new monster in Khimera _.
For this art project I was using Polychromos colour pencils from Faber Castell. I love this sets so much as the colours are brilliant and long lasting. The pencil is not easy to break and comfortable to use. They are definitely worth the price.

Hallo liebe Hiveians...
dies ist meine erste Teilnahme an der "Kunst-Herausforderung" der Splinterlands-Gemeinschaft.
Dieses Kunstwerk ist inspiriert von einem berühmten mythischen Figur meines Heimatlandes "Indonesien", insbesondere in der Provinz Zentral-Java, dem Ort, aus dem ich ursprünglich stamme.
Indonesien ist ein Land voller Paradoxa. Es ist bekannt als die größte moslemische Bevölkerung der Welt, und in Java haben die Moslems auch die Vorherrschaft in der Gesellschaft, trotzdem glauben die Menschen immer noch an so viele mythische Figuren: Gottheiten, Geister, Dämonen usw. und einige von ihnen beten sie sogar an.
Das Objekt meiner heutigen Kunstwerke ist zum Beispiel "Nyai Blorong".
Sie ist die stärkste Vorhut der Südsee (Indischer Ozean), die rechte Hand von Ratu Kidul "Die mythische Königin der Südsee und Beschützerin vor Java".
Nyai Blorong ist bekannt als eine schöne Dämon-Prinzessin mit Schlangenkörper.
Die Javanesen glauben, dass Menschen Reichtum erlangen können, wenn sie mit ihr einen Vertrag auf Leben und Tod abschließen. Jeden Freitag einmal im Monat (um genau zu sein, einmal in 35 Tagen nach dem javanischen Kalender, "Jumat kliwon" genannt) kam die Prinzessin zu Besuch und bat um einen Liebesakt mit dem Vertragspartner.
Wenn die Nacht vorbei ist, würde die Prinzessin ihm ihre Schuppen hinterlassen, die sich dann in Gold verwandeln würden. Der Vertragspartner wäre jedoch verpflichtet, der Dämonenprinzessin als Opfer eine menschliche Seele zu geben. Nach dem Tod des Vertragspartners würde die Dämonenprinzessin ihm auch seine Seele wegnehmen, um sich ihrer Armee anzuschliessen.
Dieser Glaube ist in meinem Heimatland immer noch ziemlich stark ausgeprägt, so dass immer dann, wenn es einen Menschen gibt, der plötzlich sehr reich wird, ohne dass es dafür eine plausible Erklärung gibt, in der Nachbarschaft sicherlich Gerüchte kursieren würden :-D.
Nun, genug mit dem Mythos, ich möchte euch jetzt den Zeichenprozess unseres Schlangendämons "Nyai Blorong" zeigen.
Ich würde mich sehr, sehr freuen, wenn diese Figur eines Tages in der Zukunft das Projektteam von Splinterlands dazu inspirieren könnte, ein neues Monster in Khimera zu erschaffen _.
Für dieses Kunstprojekt habe ich Polychromos-Farbstifte von Faber Castell verwendet. Ich liebe diese Sets so sehr, da die Farben brillant und lang anhaltend sind.
Der Stift ist nicht leicht zu brechen und komfortabel in der Anwendung. Sie sind ihren Preis auf jeden Fall wert.

The end result... without any use of camera filter...
The possible colour differences are caused by the lighting. I have been drawing this afternoon and the work was ended when the sun has already set, so the light source has changed from sunligt into LED lamp :-D.
And last but not least..., you can also take a look at this short video of some drawing step I made.
I must say that my little daughter was so sweet and patient waiting for Mommy working... she didn't bother me much and just made her self busy with her own things when she got bored watching me drawing.
