Every week there is a Splinterlands challenge to share a rule set using a specific card and on this week's post it is a battle with the Explosive Weaponry rule set. I also encourage Splinterlands players to partake in the challenge because you get to try different strategies and earn some crypto in the process.
The summoner I choose to use this time is Grandmaster Rathe. It gives my entire side +1 armor, void armor, and amplify.
Splinter | Mana Cost | Position | Reason |
---|---|---|---|
Grandmaster Rathe | 6 | Summoner | +1 armor, void armor and amplify |
Pelacor Conjurer | 2 | 1st | Magic Reflect and Flying |
Corsair Bosun | 10 | 2nd | Camouflage Shield |
Adelade Brightwing | 7 | 3rd | Repair and Resurrect |
Celestial Harpy | 2 | 4th | Opportunity |
Venari Crystalsmith | 4 | 5th | Tank Heal |
Soul Fiend | 0 | 6th | Filler |
Total Mana: | 31 |
My plan is to use Pelacor Conjurer as my tank for the magic reflect and flying. After that is a monster with reflection shield to avoid the blast damage on my tank. Then I have some support abilities such as repair and tank heal to have my tank survive longer. On top of that, I have resurrect in case my tank dies first as well. I have a single opportunity monster to hit the backline and my last monster is a filler monster to let my healer live longer.
At first glance, I think that this will be a tough match. My opponent has a max level deck so he has a clear level advantage. On top of that, my opponent has reflection shield monsters along with the speed advantage.
Both me and my opponent lost a monster. However, I am at a large disadvantage due to the speed difference. My opponent will attack first and I don't see myself surviving the onslaught.
I lost two more monsters and I don't see myself winning this match because of the speed difference. My monsters are reduced to 1 speed so my opponent gets to attack first.
As I expected, I lost the match.
The battle did not go as I expected. My opponent had a level advantage and all those supportive abilities were too much for me to overcome. The speed advantage from my opponent was the most concerning issue as my opponent attacked first. So I couldn't do much damage against my opponent. Void Armor did help me survive a bit longer and the resurrect was able to get me through the first round, but I just wasn't able to deal enough damage against my opponent. I had a decent lineup as I was trying to keep my frontline alive, but my opponent just did too much damage.
You can see my entire match here.
What did you think of my match? Was there anything you would have done differently? I think it is quite interesting to see how different players play in a ruleset.
