One of my favorite Earth cards. Centauri mage is a powerful Magic Attacking Tank with Return Fire, making her one of the few anti-range cards that Earth is equipped with.

She has 7 Mana Cost, 1 Magic, 3 Speed, and 9 Health, making her a solid spongey tank with a large amount of health.

Gaining 2 Magic at Level 3, her first power spike happens in Low Silver, where she becomes a better offensive pick. Then, in Gold level, she gains Repair, and becomes a truly powerful tanky support for your main tank, like say, Oaken Behemoth. Finally, at max Level, she gains an additional magic, ending with 3 Magic, 4 Speed, 10 Health, Repair, and Return Fire.

She currently costs $2.67 per BCX to Level up, making her one of the cheaper Untamed/Reward Rares, with Child of the Forest beating her at $1.60.

This means she costs $37.38 to upgrade to Level 3, and $106.80 to gain Repair. For MAX Level, she costs a whopping $307.05 to upgrade using single BCX costs.

Centauri Mage is a very versatile card for Earth, and can be used as a staple with any summoner, but IMO her magic attack means she does not capitalize on Eastwood's -2 Armor, and she doesn't benefit from range damage, so I believe that Mylor is the best option for Centauri Mage, turning her into a hyper offensive counter to anything melee or ranged. Lyanna is a fine choice for additional health as well. Honestly, Eastwood is probably the worst choice.

I will be using Eastwood anyways, because he's cheap at Gold/Silver levels and Mylor is NOT.

Centauri Mage is a really strong choice in multiple positions:

  1. She is very strong as a backline tank, protecting your squishier backline from Sandworms and such. She is expecially useful here in Sneak rounds.
  2. She is a powerful off-tank in Position 2 or 3, to support your Position 1s and 2s, especially in No Abilities rounds.
  3. She can be used as a position 1 main tank, especially in rounds where No Melee Monsters can be used.

Centauri Mage can really be used in any modifier to great affect, it would be easier to specify the ones she DOESN'T work in: Equalizer grants her large HP pool to your enemies, and Magic Hits Armor is just obvious.

Her most useful modifier in Earth thought specifically is during No Melee rounds, where she is a very useful tank that can also deal damage for only slightly more mana. She is an especially good choice if you don't have something like an upgrade Onyx Sentinel, an Almo Cambio, or if you think your opponent is going to go Ranged Death or Ranged Water.

Silenced Summoners and Melee can attack from anywhere. Rexxie stole the show here, dodging and getting off multiple tramples on my opponent. Centauri didn't really get to do anything so let's have another battle:

Multiple Trample and No Abilities! You're out Rexxie, sorry, no stealing Centauri's thunder here.

My opponent's lineup was awful here, and my team was a huge counter, including Eastwood, who just undid Tyrus' poor +1 Armor boost, without even intending to be. They didn't stand a chance at all, and having abilities would've just cemented Centauri Mage's victory.

I am enjoying doing multiple battles, and I have found new ways to improve the look of the article, and to make it stand-out better. It is my hope that I can continue to improve my experiences with these weekly challenges, and continue to interact with the community! I know this is an abnormal reflection, usually I talk about the battle a bit more, but I just wanted to say I really enjoy posting these each week, and if there's any improvements you'd like to see, please leave a comment!
