Hi, today I'm about to write a post analyzing a top battle from the champion league.
The battle that I have watched was between flashyflash5 and schneegecko where flashyflash5 won the battle and both of them used similar strategies.

A little info about the battle:
In this battle, flashyflash5 has used six monster cards which are: baakjira, runemancer kye, merdaali guardian, merdhampir, pelacor bandit and kepl initiate.
And schneegecko has also used six monster cards which are: baakjira, poseidon, merdaali guardian, venari wavesmith, doctor blight and kepl initiate. Both team had a similar lineup and a great strategies with the same summoner and some same monsters as well but only one of them can win and flashyflash5 was the lucky winner as he did slightly better with his strategy.
Now, I will describe the monster cards both team has used in the battle and I'll talk a little about those cards.
Both team had the same summoner which was Lir Deepswimmer.
Lir Deepswimmer: (Legendary water summoner)
All enemy monsters receive the blinded effect at the start of the battle. | All friendly monsters receive the return fire ability at the start of the battle. | All friendly monsters have +2 armor. |
Increased chance of missing. | When hit with a ranged attack, monsters with return fire will return return damage back to their attacker. |
Both team chose this card for the front position.
This is a legendary water unit of chaos legion edition and its a non attacker in general as it doesn't have any attack power. Both team has used this card at their front position in level 4 and both of them offers Void, Slow, Strengthen and Heal abilities.
Reduced damage from magic attacks. | Reduces the speed of all enemy monsters. | All friendly monsters have increased health. | Restores a portion of the monster's health each round. |
So Baakjira from both team can reduce damage from magic attacks. | Monsters from both team loses some speed. | All monsters in both team gets increased health | Baakjira of both team gets to restore a portion of own health each round. |
This is a legendary water unit of riftwatchers edition and it's a magic attacker. Flashyflash5 used this card at the second position in level 4 and it offers Flying, Life Leech and Fury abilities.
Has an increased chance of evading melee or ranged attacks from monsters who do not have the flying ability. | Monsters health increases each time it damages an enemy monsters health in proportion to the damage dealt. | This monster does double damage to targets with the Taunt ability. |
The enemy team has two magic attackers and one ranged attacker and none of them has the flying ability so Runemancer Kye gest to evade some attacks from them. | So Runemancer Kye may have a very increased health at the end of this battle or maybe not. | Unfortunately there is no monster in the opponent team with the Taunt ability so this ability will not be used. |
Both team chose this card for the third position.
This is a rare water unit of chaos legion edition and its a non attacker in general as it doesn't have any attack power. Both team has used this card at their third position in level 8 and both of them offers Tank Heal, Repair and Strengthen abilities.
Restores a portion of the monster in the first position's health each round. | Restores some armor to the friendly monster whose armor has taken the most damage. | All friendly monsters have increased health. |
Baakjira of both team now gets to be healed more with this offering. | Now that all the monsters in the battle gest +2 armor because of Lir Deepswimmer, all of them have a chance of repairing their armor. | Baakjira already offered this ability. Now what? All the monsters gets more health? |
This is a common water unit of chaos legion+reward edition and it's a ranged attacker. Flashyflash5 used this card at the fourth position in level 10 and it offers Life Leech, Cripple and Snare abilities.
Monsters health increases each time it damages an enemy monsters health in proportion to the damage dealt. | Each time an enemy is hit by a monster with cripple it loses one max health. | When attacking enemies with flying, removes the flying ability and cannot miss. |
So Merdhampir Kye may have a very increased health at the end of this battle or maybe not. | So monsters with the opponent team should evade the attack of this monster if they don't wish to lose one max health. | Unfortunately there is no monster in the opponent team with the flying ability so this ability will not be used. |
This is a common water unit of chaos legion+reward edition and it's a melee attacker. Flashyflash5 used this card at the fifth position in level 10 and it offers Sneak and Flying abilities.
Targets the last monster on the enemy team instead of the first monster. | Has an increased chance of evading melee or ranged attacks from monsters who do not have the flying ability. |
So the opponent's Kelp Initiate will be lucky enough to get hit by Pelacor Bandit. |

This is a rare water unit of reward edition and its a non attacker in general as it doesn't have any attack power. Both team has used this card at their last position in level 8 and both of them offers Cleanse and Triage abilities.
Removes all negative effects on the monster in the first position on the friendly team. | Heals the friendly back-line monster that has taken the most damage. |
So it removes the negative effects (Blinded and Slow) of Baakjira from both team so now the Blinded of the summoner and Slow of Baakjira is no use as long as Kelp Initiate is alive in the team. | Excludes Baakjira from both team, all other monsters now has the chance of getting healed by this ability although not everyone will get healed as it heals only the friendly back-line monster that has taken the most damage. |
This is a legendary water unit of dice edition and it's a ranged attacker. Schneegecko used this card at the second position in level 4 and it offers Shield, Blast and Immunity abilities.
Reduce damage from melee and ranged attacks. | Does additional damage to monsters adjacent to the target monster. | This monster is immune to negative status effects. |
So this monster will get reduced damage from the opponent's Merdhampir and Pelacor Bandit. | . | No negative effects (Blinded from opponents summoner, Slow from opponents Baakjira) will work on Poseidon for this ability. |
This is a rare water unit of chaos legion+reward edition and it's a magic attacker. Schneegecko used this card at the fourth position in level 8 and it offers Protect and Dispel abilities.
All friendly monsters gain +2 armor. | When this monster hits an enemy, it clears all positive status effects on that enemy. |
So all monsters of Schneegecko gets +2 armor each. | All the opponent enemy will need to worry about losing their positive status. |
This is a legendary neutral unit of chaos legion+promo edition and it's a magic attacker. Schneegecko used this card at the fifth position in level 4 and it offers Affliction, Camouflage, Poison, Scavenger and Weaken abilities.
When a monster with affliction hits a target, it has a chance of applying affliction on the target causing it to be unable to be healed. | This monster cannot be targeted for the attacks unless it's in the first position. | Attacks have a chance to apply poison, which does automatic damage to the target at the beginning of each round after the poison is applied. | Gain 1 max health each time any monster dies. | Reduces the health of all enemy monsters |

Merdhampir and Poseidon from both team may attack from the first position now. |
Venari Wavesmith of Schneegecko attacked with Dispel and removed all positive effects of Baakjira of the opponent team. Poseidon of Schneegecko then attacked with Blast and both Baakjira and Runemancer Kyre of Flashyflash5 was attacked and both of them returned fire their attacker. Dhampir of Flashyflash5 then attacked with Cripple and Baakjira of Schneegecko returned fire its attacker after losing a armor and one max health. Then Merdaali guardian from both team used their Tank Heal ability. Runemancer Kyre of Flashyflash5 used Life Leech and healed itself and Doctor Blight poisoned and weakened Baakjira of Flashyflash5.
Then all monsters except Runemancer Kyre and Pelacor Bandit of Flashyflash5, from both team, lost some armor or health thanks to the earthquake ruleset.
All other monsters were doing their work showing their magical buffs when Baakjira of both team kept healing themselves with big portion of health, Merdaali guardian from both team kept using its Tank Heal ability to heal on of their own monster, Doctor Blight kept poisoning Baakjira of Flashyflash5, Runemancer Kyre and Merdhampir of Flashyflash5 kept leeching life, Poseidon kept blasting others. And Flashyflash5 suddenly lost Baakjira.
Schneegecko lost three of its monsters mostly because of the earthquake when Flashyflash5 still had five monsters although Flashyflash5 lost one monster more in a bit after that.
Doctor Blight of Schneegecko was still alive because of the Camouflage ability and because Baakjira was holding the front position and besides, Doctor Blight was scavenging health out of others death so he had a good health after being destroyed in the earthquake.
So finally here are the results of the battle between flashyflash5 and schneegecko.
