Tejido a crochet #18: Entre cofres y pociones / Between chests and potions

Hay algunos objetos los cuales tienen una larga historia, ya sea porque formaron parte esencial en los ritos ceremoniales, por ser símbolo de un estilo de vida o simplemente por su utilidad tan popular. Todo ello no desmerita su posible uso en la actualidad y podemos verlo quizá como objetos preciados con un valor incalculable (reliquias), como parte de alguna cultura de antaño en los museo o siendo aún útiles y adaptados a esta época, solo que elaborados con materiales distintos.

There are some objects which have a long history, either because they were an essential part of ceremonial rites, a symbol of a way of life or simply because of their popular utility. All this does not detract from their possible use today and we can see them perhaps as precious objects of incalculable value (relics), as part of some ancient culture in museums or still being useful and adapted to the present time, only made of different materials.

Entre los objetos de antaño tenemos a los baúles o cofres. Los cuales generalmente en su interior guardaban tesoros inimaginables de mucho valor. Por otro lado, las posiciones o brebajes fueron utilizados por los alquimistas, quienes experimentaban mediante fórmulas químicas y así obtener las características de los elementos. Esa fue una etapa de descubrimientos.

Among the objects of yesteryear we have the boots or chests. These generally contained unimaginable treasures of great value. On the other hand, the positions or concoctions were used by alchemists, who experimented with chemical formulas to obtain the characteristics of the elements. This was a time of discovery.

Actualmente, los cofres siguen caracterizándose por guardan en su interior valiosos tesoros, desde piezas de joyería hasta cartas escritas a mano, ahorros, llaves y elementos con valores únicos. Y los recipientes usados para las posiciones (el más común es el vidrio), ahora se sigue utilizando en los laboratorios, porque son transparentes y el vidrio resiste a corrosiones, ralladuras u otro tipo de alteraciones.

Today, chests are still characterised by valuable treasures, from pieces of jewellery to handwritten letters, savings, keys and items with unique values. And the containers used for the items (most commonly glass) are now still used in laboratories, because they are transparent and the glass resists corrosion, scratching and other types of tampering.

Debido a lo que representa, los cofres son muy populares en los juegos en línea, generando altas expectativas entre los usuarios. En el juego de cartas Splinterlands, abrir un cofre significa recibir una recompensa y como tal puede ser buena, valiosa o muy valiosa. Lo bueno de este mecanismo es que si haces el reto diario entonces abrirás cofres también a diario. Siendo este mejor que una lotería, porque es muy poco probable que se pierda todo.
