As many of you may know, this legendary monster summoned by the water splinter came out while ago to the Splinterlands arena. When the mana was increased for battles, this sea monsters made a perfect fit for my water cards. I wanted to try painting it with water colors, so here is how it went.

Cuando se incrementó el maná para las batallas, estos monstruos marinos encajaron perfectamente con mis cartas de agua. Quería intentar pintarlo con acuarelas, así que así fue.
First, I took the Kraken's lore image and info as reference. In there, you can read how this monster came from the depts of the sea and was resized with Azmaré magic to be used in battle on the arena.
Primero, tomé la imagen y la información de la historia del Kraken como referencia. Allí, puedes leer cómo este monstruo vino de las profundidades del mar y se redimensionó con la magia de Azmaré para usarlo en la batalla en la arena.
I drew it on a standing position like being summoned for battle just recently. I thought about it roaring and diminishing those rival monsters attack!

The next step was color. I chose a combination of brown for the body mixed with purple, grey, black and white as needed to establish shadows, texture and light points. Eyes were made of pure red without being diluted in water. Red tube watercolor was good for this.
El siguiente paso fue el color. Elegí una combinación de marrón para el cuerpo mezclado con violeta, gris, negro y blanco según fuera necesario para establecer sombras, texturas y puntos de luz. Los ojos estaban hechos de un rojo puro sin diluirlos en agua. La acuarela de tubo rojo fue buena para esto.

After that, I just worked the canvas with a light blue and added some more strength to lines and certain textures on it.
Después de eso, simplemente trabajé el lienzo con un azul claro y agregué un poco más de fuerza a las líneas y ciertas texturas.
this is the final result, I hope you like it. I will keep using this card for sure in the future, specially those high mana-cost battles!
