2700 MMR battle in Silver

Today, we're looking at a battle between @carling692000 and @sidashu. The way Lorna Shrine beats Yodin Zaku has to be impressive. After all, you shouldn't be able to easily beat Zaku. Or should you?

By looks of it, Zaku was a terrible choice, since this ruleset included Blast for every monster. That all by itself should rule out Zaku as a powerful choice, while making Lorna great, since life's weaker monsters are protected for a little longer thanks to Divine Shield versus Blast. If anything, this is the perfect rule set to pick Lorna while it's also the worst rule set to pick Zaku.

I love how even though it's a top battle, but the winner used a lot of monsters currently being printed. Luminous Eagle stands out as the only card besides the summoner that was likely a rental in this battle. Pelacor Conjurer is a reward card, while Celestial Harpy, Time Mage, Dax Paragon and Prismologist are from Chaos Legion.

I think Dax was a great choice in this battle because it was used with Pelacor Conjurer. Focusing magic damage against the enemy frontliner is a highly used and effective strategy which would be countered by Dax and Pelacor paired together. Love it.

On the other hand, red splinter has Flaming Monkey on it. That's useless, since Serpentine Soldier is extremely fragile. Even if Soldier has the Shield ability, it's not going to last more than a couple of turns before it's dead, unless the opponent would focus on dealing physical damage using slow monsters, and that's a terrible, and unused idea.

You can see most of the red team died on turn one. Its resilience was horrible, leading to a very quick defeat - everything was killed in round 2. This was an easy and quick win for white. No matter how high you are in the leaderboard, don't forget your fundamentals!
