I'm excited about what's happening at @Splinterlands the best #Play2earn out there. Although we are in a turbulent period in the world economy, particularly in cryptocurrencies, Splinterlands has shown itself to be resilient.
To my surprise when claiming my rewards in SPS Staked I was happy instead, that we have a new kind of airdrop in Splinterlands. For Lands and Tower Defense packs.
In this post, I will only emphasize the Land, which is the only asset I currently have. If you want to see the official information, access the following links: Land Rewards and Nightmare Rewards, from @sps.dao.
A few months ago I posted a trade I made between the Legendary Summoner Quix The Devious (Gold Foil) and a Land. With the following title: [EN/PT] OPENING 12 CHAOS LEGION PACKS FROM A CARD TRADE. WORTH IT?
At the time, I was able to sell this summoner for $349 to buy land that cost about $209. With the difference ($140) getting this same summoner in the regular version and some Chaos Legion packs.
I remember that in the post, I still wondered if this operation would be worth it and only time could tell. Well, the time has passed and now we are sure that we did the right thing. Summoner Quix The Devious is currently priced at around $120 and the land has pretty much held its price, last sale was $217 at the time of writing this post.
This Land started generating 1.455 SPS per day, in the image below we have the equivalent of two days of rewards. There is a pool of 6.25 million SPS that will be distributed at a rate of 1% per month for 65 months, as stated in the proposal, Land Rewards.
Searching the Splinterlands Whitepaper we have the amount of Plots, which is exactly 150000 Plots. There are also Tracks, each Track corresponds to 100 Plots, in addition to Regions that correspond to 1000 Plots each.
Doing the math we arrive at an approximate number of 156250 Plots, which includes Plots, Tracks, and Regions, the last two are not informed of the exact amount in the Whitepaper.
1.455 SPS/Land --> 43.65 SPS per month
rounded down --> 40 SPS per month
Number of Plots --> 6250000/40 = 156250 Plots
We also made a simple calculation to obtain the current average profitability of a Land and we arrived at exactly the value of 1% per month or 14% per year. But as the calculation was made with values in dollars, this estimate may change upwards or downwards depending on the SPS and Land quotation in dollars. If the SPS value goes up and the Plot value remains at the average of 200 dollars, this return goes up, but the opposite can also happen!
1 Land costs around $220 and the SPS is priced at around $0.06, we have:
(40 X 0.06)/200 = 0.011 X 100% = 1.1 % per month
((1.1/100)+1)^12 = 1.1402 --> 14.02% per year
While the Lands are not implemented, this reward in SPS with this profitability for those who keep them in-game is not that expressive, at least in the Crypto world. But it's another passive earning possibility in Splinterlands and at least giving these assets some use.
Although I only have 1 Land in my possession, I wish I had a lot more 😅 I'm happy with the updates and the path Splinterlands is taking. And if you have any of these assets, what do you think of these new gains and the profitability of these assets?

Mas como o calculo foi feito com valores em dolares esta estimativa pode sofre alterações para cima ou para baixo dependedo da cotação do SPS e da Land em dolares. Caso o valor do SPS suba e o valor da Plot se mantenha na média dos 200 dolares essa retabilidade sobe, mas o oposto pode acontece também!
