[Soul Strangler] Share your Battle challenge (2)

Second attempt at the Soul Strangler share your battle challenge, this battle has the equalizer ruleset which removes the problem of having low hp from the soul strangler, most of the time its targeted by opportunity unit due to its low hp making it unable to attack in that round.

Gold max | LV6 - +1 Damage & +1 Health

Cost per level (used prices at time of writing)

Seems to cost at least 0.12 per copy, Which is one of the lower costing rare cards from the chaos legion collection.

LeagueMax Level - Copies neededCost
Bronze maxLV2 - 5 copies0.6 usd.
Sliver maxLV4 - 25 copies3 usd.
Gold maxLV6 - 60 copies7.2 usd.
Diamond and aboveLV MAX - 115 copies13.8 usd.

The first damage buff is for the sliver level at level 3 so if you are planning to be in the sliver league getting a level 3 is enough if all you care about is the damage, the next damage buff is at level 6 which can be used in the gold league and above, poison is only available at the max level so diamond and up.

to get a level 3 in the gold foil version you require 2 copies of the card which would cost at least 4.47 which is a lot higher than what it would cost for a regular foil version which would cost around 1.68.

Battle rules

SymbolRule Effect
The Trample ability can trigger multiple times per attack if the trampled Monster is killed.
The initial Health of all Monsters is equal to that of the Monster on either team with the highest base Health.

Total Mana : 32
Usable elements : Earth, Life, Death and Dragon

The stampede ruleset is basically made worthless by the equalizer ruleset unless the higher hp unit is quite low since if its high the chance of taking out the second monster immediately is low making trample unable to activate again but equalizer is great for those hard hitting low hp units such as the soul strangler.

Team Composition

CardRoleReason
SummonerThaddius brood with its -1 to magic and heath its a pretty great summoner to use, making your opponent have less hp is always nice.
Main tank, Tank Heal, ThornsCursed windeku gets the self healing ability at level 5 which makes it great in this battle format since its possible to increase its hp value making the heal better
Magic Damage, Knock outRevealer with its knockout which is quite good at a 50% chance to make the unit skip its turn, it luck is on my side it will continuously trigger making the opponent unit unable to act
Magic Damage, Backline heal, Dispel, BlindSpirit hoarder in equalizer it can heal quite a bit for the backline and blindness can reduce the chance for melee and range units from hitting, dispel does help in removing buffs.
Range Damage, Snare, SwiftnessAt higher levels its grants swiftness allowing for the team to be faster, increasing the chance to hit first and to dodge attacks
Range Damage, Star of the challengeWith its weakness of low hp being removed by the equalizer ruleset its now very powerful with its high damage for its cost without any downside of low hp
Sneak shield, Cripple, SneakSlient Sha-vi with its decently high speed it has a high chance to dodge attacks with blindness helping it and since it has sneak it can attack from this position being a melee.

Now on to the Battle

Round 1

They did not use any magic damage unit making half of my summoner's ability useless but that -1 to hp does still work which is great.

That extra one point of armor they have is making my range and melee units waste their attacks which is quite sad, blindness seem to not help this round since they landed all their attacks which is quite lucky for them.

Round 2 & 3

Cursed windeku self heal allowed it to survive for quite awhile before finally getting taken out, it lasted quite awhile trading itself for 3 of the opponent's units pushing their range units to the front which made it unable to attack.

Round 4 to The End

They should have swap the places of the 2 range units since the one at the back had the close combat ability and would have allowed them both to attack but due to the error in placing one of them was not able to attack allowing for an easy clean up for my team.

Strategy Talk

The strategy was mainly picking higher damage units and having healing since the equalizer ruleset make all units hp to be the highest and healing is based on 1/3 of the max hp which making healing in this ruleset very strong and having high damage is to bypass the healing if possible.

Soul Strangler get it at level 3 if you are playing in sliver, consider the gold foil version at level 3 it does cost like 3 usd more than the regular version but it does come with the 10% buff but for higher levels getting the regular version is more cost effective, the level 6 damage buff is very good since it makes it a 3 cost 4 range damage unit which is quite high for its cost.

Thanks for the battle challenge curation team
