Feral Spirit - Share your battle challenge

First attempt at the Feral Spirit share your battle challenge.
For this attempt, i be running a range heavy team to try out the new card I pulled from the booster packs with my newly acquired level 2 summoner.

The ruleset is pretty fun to play with allowing you to use any card that u want, with a mana cost of 99, unless you are using 6 cards of 17 mana cost don't think there are any 17 mana cost cards, you are basically allowed to use any card in game for your match, sadly the rule set "Lost Legendaries" do not allow legendary monsters to be used.


Team Composition

Position: Summoner

General Sloan was chosen for this range heavy team as its summoner's ability is to boost range damage done by 1 at the same time it is the one of card I managed to level up from the booster packs allowing me to finally play with card higher than level 1 haha.

Position: Main Tank

Shieldbearer was chosen as the main tank due to its high health pool and decent armor amount coming in at 9 health and 4 armor at level 1, it also includes the taunt ability which can pull damage towards itself protecting the weaker range units in this team composition.

Djinn Renova can fill many roles in the team it has a decent health pool at 6 so it can be used as a sub tank, comes with a convenient skill Strengthen which boost Friendly units and itself with an additional 1 health allowing them to survive for longer and does magic damage which can by pass armor to do direct damage.

Position: Melee Sneak Damage

The star of the challenge Feral Spirit in this team composition it is used as the back stabber with its sneak ability as most backline units are pretty squishy with low health, Feral Spirit has a low health pool at 2 but is very fast with 5 speed at level 2, more or less allowing it to get the first strike in.

Position: Support

Venari Crystalsmith the chaos legion tank healer card, its a reward card with a great role to fill does range damage and can heal, with the summoner it does 2 damage, its stats are not the greatest but its tank heal is fantastic allowing the front tank unit to survive longer as it will heal them every turn, its speed is on the low side at 2 but still faster than other tank healer.

Position: Range Damage

One of the main damage dealers in this team composition, having 2 range damage when unbuffed and 3 when buffed with the summoner skill might not seem like a lot until you take into account its ability, double strike allowing it to attack twice every round effectively making it do 6 damage each round plus since it counts as 2 different attacks if the enemy has 3 armor the damage is not wasted as the first strike will remove the armor then second attack will hit the health pool.

Position: Range Damage

This is one of the new chaos legion cards that I pulled from the booster packs I find it a very strong card as it has a high range damage value and the blast ability allowing it to hit more than one target is always good and in this team composition its one of the main damage dealers. coming with 3 range damage without the summoner buff and 4 with the buff it will deal a lot of damage as the adjacent unit will take 2 damage each as well so it would deal a minimum of 6 and a maximum of 8 damage depending on where the target is located.

Now on to the Battle

The enemy's team is running a magic heavy team composition with a void tank, they also have a single blast damage range unit in the mix.

Both side include one tank heal but it is lucky that I went with a range heavy team as I mitigated the void ability from the unicorn mustang, the only unit on my team that would be affected by the void ability would be my Djinn Renova reducing the damage she deal by 1.

Both sides run a single taunt unit, their taunt unit is in the third position making it in a prime spot for my Prismologist to hit it as it would be able to shine hitting for 8 damage.

The magic damage on their team is a problem as it would bypass my Shieldbearer armor and hit its health directly at least its armor would protect it against the unicorn mustang and goblin tower.


My Shieldbearer took a massive beating and only managed to hold on due to the tank heal from the Venari Crystalsmith, their Mycelic Slipspawn was not as lucky as it was not in the front slot making it unable to be healed by their tank healer getting hit by all my range damage and getting killed during round 1.

The Feral Spirit was doing sneak attack damage to the backline, but its damage was too low to take out the target, however it helps to reduce the health of the backline

In this round my 2 range damage dealer are making good work on their team with their double strike and blast damage, killing their remaining tank and removing another one of their magic damage units.

My Shieldbearer was lost in the process but Djinn Renova the subtank is still alive.



The final round, their damage managed to kill off my Djinn Renova but they lost the round as once their goblin psychic died, their goblin tower was pushed to the frontline rendering it unable to attack resulting in an easy clean up as my team still had almost all its damage dealing units alive.


Did your strategy work?


The range heavy team with the summoner range damage buff did work, having both double strike and blast units on the same team can cause a lot of damage to the enemy's team as double strike basically double the damage dealt by the unit as since I was getting an additional damage that was doubled as well resulting in the +2 damage. blast work as well as it shreds the units to the side of the target resulting in taunt unit not being place in the front to negatively affect the team as more units would be damaged, in normal cases taunt units are very strong as they can protect the weaker high damage dealing unit.

What will you try differently next time?


Maybe I would run a full sneak based team to take advantage of the Feral Spirit sneak ability, running it with a melee damage buffer to make it do more damage.

Do you like the "FERAL SPIRIT"? Why or why not?

Feral Spirit, I think its a okok card, used to use it a lot when it was a starter card during low mana battle as it has a pretty low cost at 3 and is quite fast and has the sneak ability allowing it to backstab enemy teams during low mana battle its very effective as most of the low mana units do not have much health, during high mana battle it loses its effectiveness as the damage it deals is very low making it require multiple strikes to take out a single unit and its health is kinda low at 2. so all in all I like it in low mana battle and don't like it in high mana battles.
