Countess Sinash Was Nerfed... Let's Talk About It

Countess Sinash-Yodin Zaku was going to become the most infamous combination in Splinterlands.

Rewards cards are easy to come by, let's face it, the circulation of Rewards cards is higher than other collections. With more cards being released each day starting May 31, 2022, the likelihood of maximizing Rewards cards rises considerably. Countess Sinash was going to be possibly the strongest and most synergistic card added to Splinterlands and it was a Rewards card.

See the difference? It should be obvious. The Life Leech ability is gone and the other abilities go back a level. Camouflage was an ability for Countess Sinash to attain at Level 2, but now it is a Level 1 ability. Increased speed is an ability now attained at Level 2 as opposed to Level 4. At Level 4, Countess Sinash gets blast.

This is a major nerfing as Countess Sinash is going to be used with Yodin Zaku almost exclusively and the benefit of maxing this card out to Level 4 falls off a cliff. There's no reason to make this card go to Level 4. This is a considerable nerfing as the card went from an extremely overpowered card to a card that is not worth leveling up completely.

This card has value and is extremely strong, but it is going to be used with one summoner (Yodin Zaku) as it really does not provide the same sort of value without it.

Yodin Zaku Price Source

Yodin Zaku's card price spiked with Countess Sinash's announcement and then fell down once it became clear that the card was nerfed.

Changes to the cards are going to happen pre-release and this is a big one. Taking away Life Leech from Countess Sinash is a big deal and a lot of people overpaid for Yodin Zaku in response due to such high expectations.

The Unusual Opportunity with Countess Sinash

If lore is going to be important and there is a decision to go in a less serious route, an animated reality-styled show with Lira the Dark, Bila the Radiant, and Countess Sinash has possibilities. Using Splinterlands characters for the purposes of parody could yield positive results. Throw in Lyanna Natura as a Kris Jenner type of personality and maybe there is something here that goes beyond the overly serious backdrop of @splinterlands.
