SPL Fan Lore : The Lost Validator Node

It felt so good to be back in the house where I grew up. I couldn't say that I have very good memories in this house, but this was the last memory of people that I don’t have in my life anymore. It was a miracle that I came here amid all the work. But the real estate agent who should sell the house stated that there are items that may be important in the house and that he cannot just throw them away. No matter how hard I tried, it was in vain, as if something was calling me to return there and the universe was preparing a suitable environment.

It was a simple, Cape Cod house. My room was in the attic. I had so much fun in that room! I would wrap whole fantasy worlds around those wooden beams and columns and dream all day. Of course, my now is different from your now, that is, the time of 2020 people reading this article. We have long ceased to play with such objects with VR headsets, joysticks, etc. We can do many things from an AR interface that appears before our eyes, as everyone( almost everyone) has a simple sensory transmission chip integrated into their body.

There was a chest my father had left for me before he set out on that journey he had never returned from. Inside were lots of video game consoles, old accessories from the famous Splinterlands game (that game is now the number one game in the world). After that day, I could not see my father again and I left this house with all those memories.

Now I saw that chest in the attic. Thought I'd take a look at the contents since I had some time to kill. When I opened the cover, there was something familiar between those game consoles. I was pretty sure it was a Splinterlands SPS Validator Node. I had studied it back to its initial designs. But I couldn't understand why it was there, as a physical object! Because it was a virtual gaming accessory. And it is incredibly valuable. We're talking about millions here!

I took it in my hand and examined it. After looking at it for a while, I put it in my bag. There was nothing else of value in the house. I pulled out all the boxes near the trash can and left the house.

When I returned to my own house, I had only one thing in my mind. What is this object? I was immediately open to the game. While making adjustments to the interface, I saw something odd on the table. The object had an info warning on it.

“Please introduce your Validator Node Accessory to the game!”

I took it in my hands and followed the directions.

“The Validator Node has been successfully integrated into the game. Please enter the game and activate your Validator node!”

I entered the game and looked at my accessories. There it is, the Validator Node! I took the Validator Node out of the inventory. (At this point, I guess I don't need to explain that I'm moving on my own land in the Splinterlands game, I mean on Praetoria! )

“Tap the SPL logo to activate!”

As soon as I touched the logo, the Validator Node frantically disintegrated, reassembled, and activated. It looked beautiful. Now all I had to do was to place this node in the beacon on my land.

The beacon was a very beautiful structure, even my father once told me that he modeled this beacon himself, using the SPL drawings from the Lore. Now I was standing in front of it. I approached the Beacon and I bring the Validator Node closer to the cavity that looked like it was made just for it. It clung to it as if it were being pulled by a magnet, and energy flows and strange noises began to appear all over the beacon.

I stepped back and started watching. Each beacon had such a unique inscription on it and now the ancient letters on it were glowing. Then a beam of energy rose from the top of the beacon. As far as I know, this symbolized connecting to the blockchain. It was such a beautiful sight that I just stand there and watched it. Now I felt that there was a bond between my father and me.

I saw that there was a message for me in my in-game inbox. Posted by: Casimirio. I honestly didn't know who it was, but I opened the message anyway.

“Dear son, I think you have activated the Validator Node that I left for you. Well done. It means you are playing the game. Now I can pass the control of my account to you. My login information is at the bottom of the message. Take care and don't get obsessed with the game too much! ;)”

I couldn't believe it. I always wondered what happened to my dad's gaming account. Now I was thinking about what that account could possibly include. NFTs, packs, and other things were sold in the early game. I could not have guessed then that also there was a tremendous treasure waiting for me.

I hope you liked the story! Now here is how I made the model of the Beacon and Validator Node!

First I started making a draft technic drawing of the beacon. A square base I guess, stairs, etc.

I also made a detailed drawing of the Validator Node.

And this is the final technical drawing.

Then I started 3d modeling the beacon using the technical drawings. This helps me to make sure that the measurements will be kept as I calculated.

I really had fun making those SPL teeth.

And the model is finished. Now I need to make the Node.

I extruded parts based on the drawing.

And here is the final model.

And here is how it seemed before rendering.

Added some trees, grass, rocks, and our character.

And finally, I added a cape on him, make some brightness/contrast modifications, and added a light beam going to the sky.

Also, I took the rendering of the Node separately, here it is!

Thank you for reading. Take Care!
