It's that day of the week in which I find the most interesting Splinterlands experience I've had over the past week to share! That fits in perfectly with the theme of the weekly Splinterlands Social Media Challenge too!
But first, a quick look at what happened this week in the world of crypto.
Well, it seems like the gloom and doom surrounding BTC when it hit 52k a few weeks ago has completely evaporated. There is now talk of BTC breaking through a new All Time High within the next couple of weeks. And going by the looks of BTC rising up to and holding steady at $67k, that could most certainly be a very real possibility. All those who bought the dip now look like geniuses! 🤣 Were you one of those who got that steep discount? Or panic sold and are now regretting it? Of course, I could be completely wrong too, so, please do not heed my advice for your own investment purposes! 😜📈🚀
A brief introduction before I start though...
Good Day to all Splinterlands players! (and people of HIVE! 😜) I've made it a point to blog about my weekly progress and experiences in Splinterlands/HIVE in my "weekly diary". Splinterlands & HIVE are what I'd consider to be my entry point into the World of Crypto, and I intend to use this as a means to look back on the path I've taken in the years ahead.⏳⏳⏳

I must admit that the tone of the message has caused quite a bit of polarising views. I've read numerous posts making an argument for both sides and I am personally torn between both.
That said, here’s a concise breakdown of the funding proposal, its intended use, and the broader implications for Hive’s competitive edge in the blockchain space.

Funding Request & Use of Funds:
- Request: 500k HBD over 6 months (2777 HBD/day) for ongoing development and operations.
- Cost Management: Efforts to minimize overhead costs to maximize funds for product development and Hive exposure.
- Comparison: Large sum relative to Hive projects but small compared to other blockchain grant programs.
- Onboarding & Marketing: Improve onboarding, hire a top web3 marketer, and run major marketing campaigns.
- HBD Use: Swap HBD for in-game DEC tokens on Hive engine, keeping funds within the Hive ecosystem.
Hive's Competitive Needs:
- Community Commitment: Nearly seven years of Hive community membership with a focus on resource allocation.
- Metrics Decline: Concern over Hive’s decline compared to other chains despite its superiority in many ways.
- DHF Capital Allocation: Effective use of available capital to support projects that bring new users and visibility.

Just like in life, the true answer usually lies somewhere in between. Instead of focusing on both extreme ends where some players are calling for SPL to leave the HIVE blockchain, it is probably more conducive for everything to take a deep breath and see how cooperation and more transparency will be more likely to produce better results.
I definitely can appreciate how this funding proposal is a testament to the dedication of the Splinterlands team and their unwavering commitment to the Hive ecosystem. Supporting this initiative means investing in the growth and sustainability of Hive, ensuring it remains a relevant and valuable player in the blockchain world. 👍🏻
