Today's weekly Social Media Challenge is back to the open ended theme of highlighting something remarkable within Splinterlands. I think we have the perfect thing thanks to the most recent ranked battle changes! No longer are we constrained by our card levels according to league limits. It is now a free for all with everyone being able to use the most powerful cards they have at their disposal! This has led to many lopsided matches for everyone (myself) included.
But first, a quick look at what happened this week in the world of crypto.
It's the bull run madness again this week! BTC led the way with an incredulous spike all the way up to $64k! We are only barely a few percentage points off the previous ALL TIME HIGH! All the altcoins have followed suit with HIVE also blasting up nearly 30% to go past $0.40! Will this lead to HIVE surpassing it's previous all time high of $3? (albeit that one being a temporary "korean pump"). We will find out soon enough I guess. 😁
A brief introduction before I start though...
Good Day to all Splinterlands players! (and people of HIVE! 😜) I've made it a point to blog about my weekly progress and experiences in Splinterlands/HIVE in my "weekly diary". Splinterlands & HIVE are what I'd consider to be my entry point into the World of Crypto, and I intend to use this as a means to look back on the path I've taken in the years ahead.⏳⏳⏳
This is now the 119th consecutive week writing in my Diary (of sorts) detailing my Splinterlands Journey ever since I started this game. I talk about what has gone on my personal Splinterlands playing experience, my weekly Guild Brawl Reports, and also any Splinterlands ingame news. 🎉🥳🎊
No week goes by in Splinterlands without some news event happening though. And here's my pick of some of the most interesting ones in my opinion. 📰📰📰

This week's Social Media Challenge is all about sharing our remarkable Splinterlands moments. I'd have shared my daily and weekly activities in the past, BUT, usually, nothing really special really happens in my daily Splinterlands daily grind, so let's hope this is more interesting for reading?... let's get down to it! 🤣
We have been so used to being "protected" by the League level limits that most of us have forgotten how devasting champion/diamond level decks can be. This week's change to the ranked battle mechanics have forever changed the landscape for Splinterlands yet again!
Take myself for example, and I believe for the majority (>90%) of the player base, I have been happily carving out a space for myself in the Bronze League with nary a care in the world. Come the end of season update this week, I was suddenly faced with monstrous champion/diamond level decks which completely destroyed my low level lineups.
However, even the most powerful and lopsided matches can sometimes result in an upset victory. I shall showcase a few of these in which my much lower level armies managed to score an upset victory that left these giants with their nose bloodied and egos bruised! 😉
My quest for more Gold Foil Legendary cards from my rewards chests continues on ("Greed is Good!" 😈). It's a 0.008% chance, at base level, to pull a legendary gold foil, in case you were wondering 😉. Here's to more jackpot strikes in the future (i hope) 🤞🏻🍀🤞🏻🍀🤞🏻🍀.
⚔️🛡️My Battle Showcase🛡️⚔️
Let me present a few battles I fought recently in which I managed, against all odds, to win these players who out levelled me on an order of magnitude that I couldn't imagine. Victory or defeat would lie in the small details. 😱
This was a fight in which I managed to beat a level 6 Tarsa led army! My deck was only bronze level with my units mostly being level 1 or 2 only.
This was not as drastic a difference, but my opponent still far outmatched me in terms of levels. He was using a level 4 Avina with level 2 legendaries and corresponding Silver League level cards!
Just like the first battle, I faced off against a level 6 Thaddius and lived to tell the tale. Once again, I manged to score an underdog victory against all odds!

I definitely can appreciate how utilising the most of your deck's strengths can lead to unexpected outcomes. This is one of those situations in which Davids can beat Goliaths if surrounded with the proper team. The role every single carefully selected unit brings to the battlefield will give a player the edge in squeezing out every tiny advantage to get the win. 👍🏻
For any players who feel daunted with the new battle level changes, I hope this article has given you some insight into the potential of every single card regardless of it's level. 😉
