The Wavesmith: Broken Card OR Game Breaking Card?

Venari Wavesmith- Early Winner in the New Reward Set

With the release of the new Reward cards- everyone is pouring over the stats and Abilities of the new cards and the early contender for best card of the set is a Water Rare called Venari Wavesmith. This card, at first glance, doesn't seem like much- To Be Honest.
5 mana for a 4 Health/1 (Magic) Attack monster, is not very impressive. The thing about it that IS impressive is it's Ability: Protect.

Protect

The Protect ability gives every, EVERY, monster on your team +2 Armor, not just the monster with the ability. Armor allows your monsters to absorb (at least) one hit w/o taking damage- it doesn't matter the amount of damage it would do, it just removes armor until there is none. Why is this a big deal? Well, let's say a Sand Worm hits your Ice Pixy. Normally, she's dead but with 2 Armor and 1 Health- she survives the hit. Giving your entire team the ability to survive multiple attacks is incredibly powerful- as many Water/Magic deck players will tell you, one of their biggest weakenesses is having their whole team slaughtered before they can strike. This one card? solves that completely.

Is Protect really that valuable? Well, look at it this way:
In the whole game there's only one other card that has Protect at L1, Truthspeaker. It's a Rare, Life card. In the Life Splinter, it's not that big of a deal because Life monsters tend to have armor- they even have a Summoner that gives every monster +1 armor. So, extending this Ability into Water, at L1? That's big. I'd even go so far as to say, it's HUGE.

Is it REALLY that Successful?

I've tested it out and yes. It is really that good. The Water/Magic deck still suffers from it's one downfall- Silence but that has an easy solution. Once I solved that issue, I actually changed my entire Water deck around. Using this card, I won over 90% of my games and advanced up to Silver II in a very short time!

But, is the card BROKEN?

In my opinion- yes. The card is broken- in the same way that Mylor is Broken and for the same reason- it gives every member of your team a bonus, at L1, that they normally wouldn't have access to.
In fact, look at it this way:
This card completely counters Mylor Crowley- Thorns does 2 damage, Protect gives your monsters 2 Health. Every Melee monster on your team gets to attack and not take any damage.
Here's another way to look at it:
Discounting the Truthspeaker- who is in Life and has no attack:
Protect is not an available Ability until Gold. Even in Gold League, outside of Life Splinter, it's exceedingly rare.
There's an Earth Legendary (Spirit of the Forest)
Then there's the Tower Griffin and Crustacean King and that's IT!

But, does it break the GAME?

Not above Silver League, it doesn't. In Gold, Crusty is just a better card wo you will rarely see a Wavesmith used, there. In Bronze and Silver? Yes. This card makes a good deck, better and enables the creation of a nearly unbeatable deck- in Bronze and Silver.
