Hi everyone! It's time for the a weekly battle challenge, and the challenge for this week is Dragons. For this challenge, I’m using 2 dragons - Djinn Chwala and Chaos Dragon
About the Monsters
Djinn Chwala
Djinn Chwala is a legendary card which is great at level 1 with high Health (9) and Shield (5) and has the Thorns ability, which deals 2 damage to Melee monsters that attack it. It gets the Enrage ability from level 4 and True Strike at level 6. I’m using the level 1 version here though.
Chaos Dragon
Chaos Dragon is another legendary card that is great at level 1. It also has high Health (10) and high Shield (4) and has the Flying ability which is great for The Earthquake ruleset and also has the Scattershot ability. Scattershot ignores any Taunt ability that your opponent is using. It also gets the Blast ability at level 2 and Blind at level 3. Again, I’m just using the level 1 version.

Position | Name | Description |
---|---|---|
1 | Djinn Chwala | It has has 9 Health, 5 Shield and thorns against melee attacks. It’s a great card against Melee monsters and can last quite a bit as a tank. |
2 | Wave Brood | It has the Taunt ability and it’s main purpose is to soak up most of the initial damage. |
3 | Djinn Oshannis | It’s has the Void ability and the high Health (10). It acts as a secondary tank if the opponent uses a Magic deck. |
4 | Nerissa Tridawn | It has high Health (9) and high Magic Attack (3) 5 Attack. It is the main damage dealer to the opponent’s tank |
5 | Chaos Dragon | It has high Health (10) and high Magic Attack (3), and the Scattershot ability. It allows it to randomly deal damage to the opponent’s deck. |
6 | Deeplurker | Another card with high damage (3). With its Opportunity ability, it helps to take out the opponents weaker cards first. |
Strategy
The ruleset for Taking Sides meant that no neutral cards can be used. As such, it is a great ruleset for using Dragons as it allows more choices of cards to be used. I paired it with the Water splinter as I wanted to use a Magic heavy attack and I have the Djinn Oshannus and Nerissa Tridawn cards, which made it a perfect combination. The Water splinter also has the Wave Brood, which takes the initial hits while the rest of the cards take out the opponent’s monsters. I think the strategy was rather successful as I took out the opponent fairly quickly. I’ll use the same strategy again if I encounter the same ruleset.
Thoughts on the card
I love Dragons as there are so many great Dragon cards. However, they are not so suitable in low mana ruleset as they usually have high mana costs.
