5 BIGGEST TAKEAWAYS FROM THE TOWN HALL (2.13.2023)

Another solid town hall by the team and a sighting of Yabapmatt! Not much in terms of earth shattering news here but we did get some updated timeline estimates for projects, including land. Here are the 5 things that caught my attention:

  • Season Rentals Coming Soon!

It seems like they could have been ready for the 2.14.23 release but weren't quite there yet. This has me hoping we get them by the end of the month!

  • Land 1.5 by end of Q2

It looks like land phase 1.0 will be completed by the end of Q1, but now we have something to look forward to by the end of the Q2 which will be another half step before we get to fully functional land later this year. The idea of being able to stake monsters or start using land in one way or another is exciting and I'm glad this process is being broken down into smaller chunks.

  • Land will take years to develop (even for whales)

One thing Matt mentioned was that he didn't want a situation where whales could come in and max out their land in a matter of weeks or months - this is supposed to be a multiyear thing. It makes me think about how Crowns in the guild system create a time gate that requires participation. I wouldn't be surprised if we see something similar implemented on land.

  • Potential Proposal - Voucher Print Reduction

Matt mentioned he is considering putting a proposal to reduce the voucher print rate (currently 40k/day). The reasoning behind doing this, as opposed to just creating more sinks or charging more vouchers for future items is that many items are already priced in (such as packs).

  • Rebellion in September! (Tentative)

Aggy didn't mention this literally, but when listing off that Chaos Legion would be done in March and the promo set still up in the air - he did say we may not see packs until September. In a previous town hall he said July was a stretch goal for Rebellion which leads me to believe that late Q3 is probably the best estimate for release - which lines up perfectly for September. Could make for an interesting summer!
