Battle Mage Secrets | Odd Ones Out..

Greetings to all and sundry on this great platform, I welcome you all to my blog and today I write to participate in this week's challenge. This is going to be my fourth participation in the weekly challenge and I am very happy to be part of the Splinterlands family. I hope that you guys would like my entry. Without much ado, I would like to go straight to the purpose of this post. Today, the battle ruleset is "Odd Ones Out" and I would submit my entry to that here in this post including a video of my battle.

Per the Ruleset of the game, Monsters with odd Mana costs may be used in battles. I used my personal account @abu78 to participate in this battle. I am currently playing in the Bronze stage. Before I demonstrate the battle here, let's briefly look into the Ruleset of the game.

Odd Ones Out
Only Monsters with odd Mana costs may be used in battles. There are no special tricks for this ruleset, but having an idea of the mana points of a few monsters helps in predicting what your opponent can and cannot use.

Odd One Out can be found with the following Rulesets

Summoner:

I chose Frendul Keyla summoner so that my monsters would get an increase in speed and also in armor. It was a 19-mana game condition and I had to manage my card selection to suit that. In using the Frendul Keyla, I selected monsters that attack by the range and also serpent of eld which have higher chances of evading melee and range attacks. Axemaster in my lineup was also a great option to me because of the double-range attack it does.

1st Position:

Serpent of Eld, this card has a 25% chance of evading melee or range attacks from monsters. It is a 7-mana monster with a speed of 4, 3 melee damage attacks, and 5 health with 2 armor as protection.

Round 1:

First of all, all monsters took their effect from the summoner by gaining extra armor and speed. My lineup was made up of three monsters including; Serpent of Eld, Two Gun Pete, and the Axemaster. His lineup was made up of five monsters including a gladius monster. When I saw that, I lost the courage to win the battle.

In the first round, Axemaster with the highest speed among all the monsters attacked first, It first missed and then damaged and eliminated my opponent's first monster which is Chaos Agent. At the end of this round, I was able to eliminate on of his monsters whilst my opponent wasn't able to eliminate none of mine in the lineup.

Round 2:

In this round, similarly, my opponent was left with four more monsters to go whilst my three monsters were still intact. I was able to eliminate his Hardy Stonefish monster in the first position of the second round.

A miss of attack from the gladius monster was followed, after which the Serpent of Eld attacked and damaged its armor. His magic monster was also attacking and reducing my health slowly. I was expecting to manage and finish his gladius monster in the next round. Similarly, at the end of this round, I was able to eliminate another monster on his lineup, which left him with three monster just as mine.

Round 3:

In this round, we both had three last monsters standing but with no hope of victory for my opponent. Because Axemaster was having Axemaster still active and strong, I believed I could win that battle with ease.

As usual, Axemaster first attacked and eliminated his gladius monster at a go, after which my Serpent of Eld monster also attacked and eliminated his Venari Marksrat monster. It then increased the stats of the next monster with its martyr ability. At the end of this round, he was left with just a monster while my three monsters were still intact.

Round 4 to 5:
His last monster (Musa Saline) after increasing in stats, was having 8 health and 2 magic attacks. In the fourth round, I was able to attack and it was left with just a single health to eliminate it.

His last monster was also able to eliminate my first monster (Serpent of Eld) with its magic attack. After that, Axemaster eliminated it with its range attack and that was the end of the battle.

This was how my battle went and I won it with my strategy used. I think going with range monsters is a good strategy for use in battles with the Odd one out. It was a successful selection for me in this battle and I think my strategy for going in for the Frendul Kelya summoner was a great one.
Thank you all for your time and attention for going through my post. A link to my battle is provided here Battle Link
