Emilio ha regresado de su viaje ante de lo esperado. Mariana, su mujer, escucha el ruido del carro, se levanta rápidamente de la cama, y con gran nerviosismo comienza a recorrer la ropa que se encuentra regada por el piso, mientras le grita a Miguel que se vista de inmediato para que se esconda en un lugar donde su marido no lo pueda hallar fácilmente.
Miguel corre asustado a esconderse detrás de las cortinas del cuarto, es muy evidente ahí no le dice la mujer, en ese momento oyen que abren la puerta principal, el amante decide ocultarse dentro del closet debido a su cercanía y por el escaso tiempo que tiene para desaparecer del lugar.
Entretanto Mariana se apresura en ir hasta al baño para tomar el aromatizado ambiental, desea disimular los olores que quedaron en la habitación después de toda la acción que hubo en la cama.
Ella decidió bañarse, para pensar con claridad sobre la estrategia que la llevarían a cabo para salir airosa de aquella situación embarazosa en la que se hallaba, mientras que Emilio se había quedado en la cocina buscando comida para llevarla hasta su habitación, quería ver el mundial de futbol desde la comodidad de su cama.
Al llegar al cuarto lo encuentra todo limpio y arreglado, de inmediato percibe el aroma floral que impregna el ambiente, él sonríe, ya que estas son las cosas que le gusta de su esposa, siempre está pendiente de los detalles, se tira a la cama y enciende el televisor, está ansioso de ver el partido de futbol.
Mariana se acicaló y se vistió provocativamente, aunque sabía que no tendría la atención de su marido, puesto que este entraba en trance cada vez que veía un partido futbol, salió del baño y a penas lo vio, se abalanzó sobre él y le dio un beso en la boca, Emilio la miro con asombro y se la quito de encima, no quería ninguna distracción.
— Regresaste ante de tiempo, ¿te cancelaron las citas que tenías? — le preguntó la esposa.
— No — respondió Emilio.
— ¿Qué tal estuvo el viaje? ¿Me compraste el perfume que te encargue?
— Si está abajo. — y Emilio volvió a callarse.
En ese momento, Emilio se sienta bruscamente, puesto que unos de los jugadores de Argentina se va moviendo con rapidez, está buscando el tan ansiado gol, el marido grita de frustración, mientras tanto el amante dentro del armario se muerde el puño, ante su deseo de bramar, pues ese era el gol desempataría el juego.
La tensión en el juego empieza a sentirse, los corazones del marido y del amante de Mariana parecen detenerse ante la incertidumbre del momento, de pronto en minutos sesenta y cuatro Messi realiza un gol extraordinario, Miguel sale saltando del armario lleno de euforia gritando gol, Emilio al principio lo miro con asombro, pero luego se abrazan y empiezan a gritar en unísono Gollllll.

When he gets to the room he finds everything clean and tidy, he immediately notices the floral aroma that permeates the room, he smiles, as these are the things he likes about his wife, she is always looking after the details, he throws himself on the bed and turns on the TV, he is anxious to watch the soccer match.
