The Florian siblings, a beautiful 10 year old girl named Isabel and her 7 year old brother Josue, came to live with their paternal uncle following the accidental death of their parents on a fatal plane trip. They had no relatives other than this strange uncle, whom they had rarely seen throughout their short lives and had only exchanged a few words with him and his strange wife over the years.

It had all been so quick, the accident, the funeral arrangements and their fate was already mapped out, they would have to go live with his uncle and wife on their distant farm. They were already on their way through the rural roads of that place; Isabel was nervous, because she did not like the idea, but she did not want her little brother to be as distressed as she was, so she decided to put on her best face, even though her heart shrank during the whole trip... Josue was peacefully asleep and she wanted him to stay that way.

When they arrived their uncle began to give them his instructions and rules that they had to obey without complaining; this man was of few words, but the little he told them in Isabel's mind was well recorded, his rough and a little violent gestures left her no doubt that they had to walk with caution, fortunately she was a very intuitive and mature girl for her age and this last blow of life, had made her priority very clear, to take care of her little brother and to survive.

Several of the instructions seemed very strange to her, they always had to have dinner in their rooms, when they received visitors they had to lock themselves in their room without complaining and not wander around the rooms of that old house, after nightfall, they were forbidden to ask questions and they only had to talk if they were addressed to them. In that place, love and affection had gone out of the window, the future became gloomy for them.

Josue, as he was still small, did not understand everything very well yet, but one thing was certain: he would go wherever his sister was, he clung to her with all his strength. In this way they began their new lives totally isolated from the world, except for their "uncles", and some workers who attended the house to do work with the animals and housework, but they did not spend the night in the house or the surrounding area. As the days went by, Isabel tried not to be noticed, neither she nor her brother seemed like ghosts in that old house.

One weekend they received instructions that they should stay in their room and receive all the meals there without going out, through a small window they saw some people arrive in different cars dressed in black, all of them parading inside the house. Isabel found it very strange, but they stayed in the room, she waited for Josue to go to sleep to investigate what was happening, because she only heard strange chants in the distance; she went out stealthily and stood at the height of the stairs to observe from the darkness. He began to observe all these people in a circle and in the center there were black candles at each end of a strange pentagram.

They seemed to be hypnotized, dancing and reciting strange prayers, this frightened Isabel who did not understand all that, she only knew it was not good. At one point she saw how her "uncle" took off his hood and they passed him a small animal that she could not distinguish well, but she saw the flash of a knife or something similar held high over that poor animal. Isabel could not stand that and emitted a small scream, alerting them that at once they saw her, frightened, she ran out to look for her brother and as she could she pulled him out through the small window with difficulty, they jumped towards some branches of a tree that was nearby and from there they went down, getting lost in the depth of the swamp that was nearby.

Isabel and Josue fled without looking back, while they heard the insults that those people were throwing at them, hearing their footsteps very close. Both children were terrified, but more so Isabel who already knew what they could be capable of. As they ran through that ugly swamp, they found a large fallen tree with a big hole in the center and they ran into it, tired from running so much. Isabel knew they had to hide without making a sound, while she prayed with all her heart, to the soul of her beloved parents and to God "God forbid they see us, mommy and daddy take care of us" at the same time that these horrible people passed near them without looking at them, even though they were practically in front of them....

Isabel only covered her brother's mouth and made him close his eyes. That's how the night passed, without realizing it, like the angels they were, they fell asleep, they only felt how they were embraced giving them warmth, they knew it was their parents who were protecting them. At dawn they left their hiding place and walked slowly until they reached the main road, where they found a police patrol car where two kind women took care of them at once when they saw the conditions they were in and at once they took them to a good shelter, while they processed the report to their relatives... when the police arrived to the place there was no trace of them...
