Saffron and Bumble Bees

Today the saffron in our garden bloomed for the first time this year.

Great was the joy at the sight of these dark purple crocuses.

Some were fully opened, others were still unopened, but most had already shown themselves.

They were in tufts and bees and butterflies were buzzing around them.

They were especially attractive to Bumble Bees. It was very interesting to watch how the bee literally bathed in the pollen. He went around the tuft on all sides and passed through all the crocuses without stopping. A real natural dance.

Even when I collected the flowers and put it in a bowl, the Bumble Bee kept landing on them.

After harvesting the saffron, it was necessary to separate the stigmas from the flower, for which my daughter @artysela helped me a lot.
