On my way to yoga classes on Tuesdays and Thursdays, I walk through the Necropolis of Columbus, a national monument of great historical significance since 1987. It is paradoxical that, despite being a site commonly associated with sadness and farewells, I must admit that I love to walk through it. The Necropolis of Columbus houses a large number of beautiful sculptures of great artistic, architectural and patrimonial value.

I enter through the back gate and cross the main street until I reach the imposing entrance, passing by the church that is located at the center of the cemetery. This cemetery is the largest and most famous in my country, and every corner holds an artistic surprise.

I always leave through the great main gate, which resembles a majestic triumphal arch. Above it stands a marble sculptural ensemble representing Faith, Hope and Charity. This door is a true masterpiece, with a style that evokes the splendor of Byzantine art.
