Rías Baixas: beach, dune and summertime in the North of Spain

Hello dear Hivers!

Tribute to summer time, we are already in the summer season, beach time and other happy sensations, trips and more photos. And this time, a new old trip through the region of Galicia, in the north of Spain, but in its southern area, closer to Portugal and on those irregular coasts of the Rías Baixas that hide wonderful ocean beaches.

And on a good day, or on a good afternoon, despite the fact that those Atlantic waters are colder than the Mediterranean, they will always have people enjoying them. And as sunset approaches, everything takes place in a more serene and peaceful atmosphere.

This type of beach is wilder, with more stones covered with persistent and slippery algae that sometimes hide a gift, small clams that can be discovered as small marine treasures.

The sun accompanies everyone, but not for long, and as it sets it gives us magical and brilliant moments over the calm ocean that amazes and refreshes us.

The light is becoming more subtle and warmer at the same time, everything is taking on a beautiful and nostalgic golden color, of a summer that arrives with excitement and power, with the power of a powerful sun that now momentarily goes out to give us relaxing moments, and views that are always inspiring and wonderful, which enchant even the seagulls that gaze hypnotized at the beautiful horizon.

Mobile Dune

Now, calmly, we continue along the coast but in another peculiar place. Because there is a kind of natural park with a mobile dune. This is indicated by the sign, written in the Galician dialect of the region, but it is understood that it explains its dimensions, being the largest mobile dune in the Iberian Peninsula and that it depends on the winds that move it.

It is simply a sight, another beach where in those last moments of the day there is no one, but we continue along the path...

We cross the mountain of sand that gives us access to the coast again with the last rays of light and the sun shining through the clouds that frame them. A unique, solitary and impressive space.

We look into the distance and to one side, at the bay, the lights of distant houses, and a picturesque environment. Different lights and colors that play with our eyes and with the camera, photos that look like paintings, abstract magical landscapes and a lively but calm nature that gives us peace, making us feel happy and welcoming, this year, a new summer that we hope will give us wonderful sensations like those experienced in the Rías Baixas.

Happy summer!

Thanks for reading! Have a nice and calm day!
