I join this initiative designed by @damarysvibra, on a topic as interesting as patience, how I interpreted it and valued it in my life, so I discover a little about my vision on the subject and make my point of view known.

To begin with, I can say that many things require time and perseverance to develop. I am going to use myself as an example, I am a goldsmith (@m16ueljoyas) and to reach the level of today I need years to learn, perfect certain techniques, have work methods and own style; Of course, overcoming frustrations or failures typical of any medium and long-term goal.

Thus, patience helps a lot when reaching a goal is required, always depending on the context of the activity, whether it is for a longer or shorter time, I already gave an example with goldsmithing, but a short-term example would be cooking that It regularly requires an hour or two of being there almost exclusively, active and pending, avoiding doing anything else, because the food may burn or something unforeseen happens, but when it's over, managing to serve the food remains the satisfaction of having achieved it and to enjoy the result.

Patience is staying calm and focused, having the stamina, the resistance to achieve something... It is even useful for our social or family relationships, because these can go through stages and processes, problems, solutions, which includes us in our personal improvement, all this is progressive and must have a future vision of how we see ourselves and how we see relationships with our family, partner, friendship, professional or business environment.

At the time of a conflict or a problem, patience is our ally, even more so when they are our relatives or people who appreciate or care for them, in this regard, a strategy that I take is to try to withdraw as much as possible, take some time and then having thought about it, being emotionally calm, treating the problem to solve it, because if you try to fix it with heated tempers, believe me, it is quite possible that everything will escalate for the worse.

In my case I have had to work a lot on myself, because due to education, upbringing, culture, experiences or the lack of them, I have had insecurity problems, not knowing how to act in certain circumstances, etc... so I always decided inform and educate myself to have a healthier social life. Before everything was a disaster due to the desperation of being in a group or relationship, I suffered the consequences in my emotional stability and in my personal progress.

For several years now I have understood that all life processes take time, that things are built, some decisions and habits in which to be constant; that the rewards are not immediate or that sometimes they will not even arrive, but if the valuable learning remains...

img_0.741647192450636

Patience is even very useful in dangerous, casual and unforeseen situations in our lives, keeping calm, waiting, thinking of a solution and acting at the right time can save our integrity, but do not get confused when quick action is required , there is the application of letting oneself be carried away by survival instincts... For everything else, I calm down, reflect, if necessary I wait and then act.

In conclusion, patience is a value that we must cultivate and make it an essential part of our lives, because its benefits extend to most things in which we can have goals, a vision of the future, even for daily or everyday situations such as cooking. , socialize, do a homework, study, etc.

Activities that help me stay calm:

  • Meditation: Meditating is very useful for when one is out of control, when the mind is disordered, so a technique that works is to sit comfortably, close your eyes, breathe concentrating on feeling how the air comes out and comes in. our body, when our mind is going to think about anything, feel the sensation of breathing again, with what you do 10 minutes you can feel the positive results in your body and mind, so you will get a good dose of calm.

  • Listening to music: this can change our mood and we can use it to relax and be happier, you can put it on to accompany your activities or just to enjoy listening. I prefer acoustics with ancestral sounds or electronics like chillout or ambient, downtempo.... if I'm doing something that requires my intellectual effort, it's better without complex songs.... Also something that I can hear and totally calms me are those sounds rivers or beaches, there are many videos of these on YouTube. Below I leave you an environmental video and another one of electronics with folk music.

  • Going for a walk: sometimes for me when things are not going well and I don't want to be at home, for example I go out, nearby, there is always some interesting place or on the way there is vegetation, flowers, art, little birds, dogs, cats, you can consider getting to know a new place, that completely relaxes you, the important thing here is to walk or do a little exercise and that the contemplation of the environment naturally arises, these days talking with a friend she told me that riding a bicycle clears her mind and it makes you happy, I don't do it because I don't know how to ride a bike.

You already know how I see patience and I hope this reading has been of some use to you, I know that we agree on some points, I would still love to know your opinions...

For this initiative I have to invite someone, in this case it will be my friend @marleyn to see what she tells us about Patience.
