Empezaré diciendo que el paso del tiempo es inexorable, a veces cruel, a veces bondadoso, a veces amigable, a veces enemigo. Siempre dependerá de nuestra propia postura, no es fácil hablar del tiempo con una única verdad. La perspectiva y la distancia son buenos aliados, esto de pensar si en 5 minutos, 5 días, o 5 años, esto se mantendrá tal cual o en qué afectará… Hablé en el post anterior sobre este tema acerca de las marcas del tiempo en lo material, y por qué no ocurriría esto en nosotros mismos…

I will begin by saying that the passage of time is inexorable, sometimes cruel, sometimes kind, sometimes friendly, sometimes enemy. It will always depend on our own position, it is not easy to talk about time with a single truth. Perspective and distance are good allies, this thinking if in 5 minutes, 5 days, or 5 years, this will remain as it is or what it will affect... La perspectiva con respecto al tiempo nos brinda una doble conjetura. O caminamos hacia un lugar, o al otro. La bifurcación del camino es, en el presente, lo único que podemos hacer con nuestro tiempo. No hay maneras sabias de hacer esto, sino más bien, el corazón que le ponemos. Y vuelvo a mezclar el tiempo con la emocionalidad. Nos pesa o nos aliviana. El camino siempre será salvarnos a nosotros mismos, y lo que hacemos con el tiempo, debería acercarnos a ello. Aunque a veces es cruel, parece suceder todo muy rápido, y las pequeñas decisiones nos alejan del objetivo, de aquel destino que tiene el corazón.

The perspective with respect to time gives us a double conjecture. Either we walk to one place, or to the other. The fork in the road is, at present, the only thing we can do with our time. There are no wise ways to do this, but rather, the heart we put into it. And I again mix time with emotionality. It either weighs us down or relieves us. The way will always be to save ourselves, and what we do with time, should bring us closer to that. Although sometimes it is cruel, everything seems to happen very fast, and the small decisions take us away from the objective, from that destiny that the heart has.
Aunque también hablé sobre lo que damos a otros y cómo los acompañamos en su paso del tiempo, es propicio decir que también importa lo que nos damos a nosotros mismos, y lo que otros nos dejan o enseñan en nuestro propio camino. Es increíble, cómo puede una decisión apresurada, jugarnos en contra de un segundo a otro. Con qué insistencia, no medimos las consecuencias de nuestras palabras y cómo esto se nos vuelve en contra casi instantáneamente. Si fuese un plano detenido, veríamos exactamente el momento donde una palabra dicha, no puede volverse atrás, y hay que enfrentar aquellas cosas dichas “por error”, por no haber usado el tiempo a nuestro favor, aunque a veces esto signifique callar, pensar.

Although I also talked about what we give to others and how we accompany them in their passage of time, it is appropriate to say that it also matters what we give to ourselves, and what others leave us or teach us in our own path. It is incredible how a hasty decision can play against us from one second to the next. How insistently, we do not measure the consequences of our words and how this turns against us almost instantly. If it were a stopped shot, we would see exactly the moment where a word said, cannot be taken back, and we have to face those things said “by mistake”, for not having used the time in our favor, even if sometimes this means to be silent, to think.
Si fuésemos un barco, nuestras decisiones en momentos de tormenta deberían ser pensadas, consensuadas, meditadas, con el simple objetivo de mantenernos a flote en el momento difícil. Una sola decisión o palabra apresurada, nos desconecta de nuestro principal objetivo, sobrevivir esta tormenta. Es el tiempo igual de importante y valorable que lo que hacemos con él. La decisión y el tiempo, usarlo a favor, y no dejar que nos use y sentir que está en nuestra contra. Hacerlo con paz, con paciencia, con meditación. Darle tiempo a florecer a cada idea, con paciencia inquebrantable de saber que, si tiene corazón, florecerá. A tomar decisiones antes de que el fuego incendie todo alrededor. Entender que somos parte de “algo más grande” aunque no lo entendamos…

If we were a ship, our decisions in times of storm should be thought out, consensual, meditated, with the simple objective of keeping us afloat in the difficult moment. A single hasty decision or word disconnects us from our main objective, to survive this storm. Time is just as important and valuable as what we do with it. The decision and time, use it to our advantage, and not let it use us and feel that it is against us. Do it with peace, with patience, with meditation. To give each idea time to blossom, with unwavering patience to know that, if it has a heart, it will blossom. To make decisions before the fire burns all around. To understand that we are part of “something bigger”, even if we do not understand it...
