Me Presento: Marcia Josefina/ @brujita18 (Esp/ Eng)

Definitely, this community has me trapped with its different initiatives and this one goes by the friend @tibaire; coming to her by my beautiful friend @actioncats, thanks to her kind invitation. This time we are going to talk in this new Initiative: Talking with my Ancestors - The power of my name; which is nothing more than to tell the story of the origin of our names, so I take the opportunity to introduce myself with my names, which is none other than Marcia Josefina.

I must say that since I was a little girl, when I have the use of reason I did not like my names at all, because since I stepped on the school were constant teasing for the two names, what today we would call the unleashed bullying, for the first it sounded strange and unusual to everyone, because it is not a common name, then they sought ways to tell me in different ways and nothing pleasant; for the second Josefina, because it seemed to them name of an older person and being shy, because it was like it was worse.

Seeing the reactions of children and even adults when I introduced myself and said my name, when I had the opportunity I asked my mother, which of the two, father or mother, had thought of giving me my names; then she told me a little funny, that the first name was given to me by my father and all because he admired and loved a Miss Venezuela that in those years he loved and it was none other than Marzia Piazza so when I was born, he said it will be called Marcia, just change one letter the Z for the C and so I was, there was no discussion.

Now my second name is another story, that was left by my beloved maternal grandmother and she had her reasons, when I was born was a very complicated birth, my mother had to have an emergency cesarean section after several hours of labor, because she never dilated and I could only be born through this operation, but the birth was already happening to my mother and I was born dead, I was in intensive care for about a month, to present various difficulties, respiratory and others, I was delicate.

Then my grandmother, seeing all these health difficulties, made a promise to Dr José Gregorio Hernandez, a famous Venezuelan doctor, to whom many healing miracles are attributed and she did not hesitate to entrust me to him, promising him that if he got me out of that trance of health, she would name me after him in gratitude and there I was with the name of Josefina. After this explanation, I said to myself, "my dad is a case, he's a good guy" and with my grandmother, "well, at least she had a good reason" heh, heh, heh.

As the years went by, I realized the positive aspects of my first name, it was not a common name, so many people when they heard my name, it stayed in their memory and that resulted in many things, for example, medical appointments, teachers, friends, boyfriends heh, heh, heh, heh, I left my mark, well, as they say. With Josefina's, I learned to give her the place she deserves, coming from a very venerated saint of us, the Venezuelans and my grandmother, and because of that my respect and consideration and also made others see it that way, with respect, I no longer lowered my head or made me crazy, when they wanted to make me feel bad about it, and that stopped working.

From the very moment I started to be aware of my full identity, that these were my names and that this was me, I did not care what others might say, I was simply Marcia Josefina, no matter who likes it, as long as I felt good with that, that was enough and it has been many years since I accepted my names as they are. I think that everything has its reason for being, although the only thing I have in common with Marzia Piazza was her long hair and skin tone, but that helped me to defend my identity and to be more sure of myself.

I loved to tell you the story of my names, to know me a little more through this initiative, I think it's the first time I introduced myself as I am and not by @brujita18. I take this opportunity to invite my friends @evev and @chacald.dcymt ; it was a pleasure to show them a little more of me and my story, 😘.
