La Paz de Felicia... (Esp/ Eng)

Fuente/ Source

Felicia was very much in love with life, with love, but also with a handsome boy she was soon to marry. He was someone her family considered an excellent match, because he had a good economic position, besides being of a very handsome and attractive demeanor. She married happily with all the good emotions at the surface, tenderness, empathy, with the joy of a girl happy to start a new life.

At the beginning everything went smoothly, her new house, her husband who, although of a certain bad character, kept in harmony with her in the tranquility of the home. Soon the children came, one after the other, the couple had decided to have them that way to "get out of it"..., but with them, the true personalities of each one came out, the time of the honeymoon was over, now came life with all its pressures and routines; Felicia tried to keep her home as much as she could.

But to maintain the tranquility, love and peace of a home it takes two. Her young husband began to feel overwhelmed by so many responsibilities, the cries of their children or their screams of play, the tiredness of his wife and sometimes little availability for him, when he just wanted to come to rest or watch a movie and although Felicia tried to keep everything on point, although with much effort, her husband was almost never pleased and did not see his efforts, only the negative, he imagined "another life", he is not and began to show his true personality.

The arguments, the fights, the frequent disagreements began and in spite of having a beautiful house, the car of the year and having some economic relief, many days Felicia spent them alone with her small children without the presence of her husband, because he preferred to be anywhere but at home; she could ask for whatever they wanted to eat, if she did not want anything that the maid could do to them, but her loneliness was very evident, many times she ate accompanied by bitter tears....

She remembered with nostalgia and sadness when in her humble home, everyone would enjoy a simple dinner, sitting in the warmth of the home, with their parents, telling each other about the day's events, their laughter, their tranquility, their peace, their union as a family. Often there was little or no variety to share, but what they had was enough and they never felt unhappy. Now she could have all the material things she wanted; however, her children had an absent father and she had an invisible husband.

Who only saw him, in and out. What she thought would be her life, turned out to be a hell and she bitterly understood that to have a home in peace, with happiness, the effort of two was needed, not of only one person, then Felicia understood with the pain of her soul that she had to take her life back into her own hands, she ended up divorcing and starting a new life with her children, alone, she understood that what her grandmother used to say was very true "Better is a dry morsel and peace than a house of strife full of provisions" (Proverbs 17-1).
