A Thrilling Battle Experience in the Equalizer Ruleset

Hello, Splinterlands warriors, welcome back to my post where I share exciting battle experiences from the arena. This time, I want to share an unforgettable moment I had while facing a battle with the Equalizer ruleset. As we know, Equalizer is a fascinating rule that can drastically change the course of the game. Every monster on the battlefield gets the same health points as the monster with the highest HP, so there’s no reason to leave out low HP monsters. Everyone can play a vital role in this battle.

When I saw the Equalizer ruleset with a 22-mana cap, I immediately thought of maximizing the number of monsters on my team. Why? Because the more monsters we have, the greater our chances of winning. Even though these monsters have small mana points and are usually sidelined in other battles, this time, they could become unexpected heroes.

Building the Formation: Maximizing Potential with AVES STURGIS

My key monster in this scenario is AVES STURGIS. In a regular battle, AVES STURGIS might not stand out much due to its low HP. However, under the Equalizer ruleset, it transforms into a formidable monster. Not only because it can adjust its HP to match other monsters, but also because of its highly valuable weapon training ability. This skill allows AVES STURGIS to grant magical attack abilities to the two nearest monsters, meaning we can create a trio of destroyers in a single formation.

I decided to bring the following team formation:

  1. GARGOYA SCRAPPER with 1 mana point and 2 HP - A cheap initial shield.
  2. PELACOR CONJURER with 2 mana points and 6 HP - A strong defensive monster with magic reflect Shield.
  3. AVES STURGIS with 6 mana points and 3 HP - The main driver with weapon training ability.
  4. HELMET KARAFAX with 2 mana points and 4 HP - Additional protective monster.
  5. URAEUS with 3 mana points and 3 HP - A monster with Poison ability that can overwhelm the opponent.
  6. CELESTIAL HARPY with 2 mana points and 3 HP - A fast attacker with Fly ability.

On the other hand, my opponent brought a different formation with stronger direct attack monsters, such as KATRELBA GOBSON and MADCAP MAGUS. They were clearly relying on direct attacks while neglecting a solid defensive strategy.

The Battle Begins: Intense Action in Every Round

In the first round, my CELESTIAL HARPY was immediately taken out by KATRELBA GOBSON using the sneak and Bloodlust ability. Even though I lost one monster early on, my team remained steady. The magical attacks from AVES STURGIS and the two monsters beside it successfully took down CLOCKWORK AIDE. Not only that, the poison from URAEUS began to trouble the opponent by attacking FUNGUS FIEND.

In the second round, KATRELBA GOBSON tried to eliminate URAEUS but was blocked by the shield. At the same time, my team’s magical attacks were again effective, this time taking down MADCAP MAGUS. AVES STURGIS’s role in boosting the magical attacks was truly felt here.

The third round was the climax of this battle. KATRELBA GOBSON was still trying hard to attack my GARGOYA SCRAPPER, but unfortunately, it wasn’t enough. My team’s magical attacks struck hard again, taking down KATRELBA GOBSON and ending the battle in victory for my team.

Reflection: Lessons and Conclusions from the Battle

From this battle, I learned that the number of monsters can indeed be the key to victory in the Equalizer ruleset. The highest health points in my team followed PELACOR CONJURER, providing extraordinary endurance for the team. However, the most surprising thing was how AVES STURGIS was able to change the course of the game with its weapon training ability. By granting magical attack abilities to the two monsters beside it, AVES STURGIS truly became an unexpected powerhouse.

My opponent, on the other hand, relied too much on KATRELBA GOBSON. Although this monster has an impressive double attack ability, the lack of monsters on their team left them overwhelmed by the barrage of magical attacks from my team. This battle taught me that a solid strategy and maximizing the potential of all monsters are the keys to winning battles in Splinterlands, especially in the Equalizer ruleset.

So, that’s my experience this time. Don’t hesitate to try similar strategies and see how your favorite monsters can shine under unexpected rules. Happy battling, Splinterlands warriors!
