Today, June 21 starts the winter in the southern hemisphere, i.e. it is the winter solstice or June solstice. It was a cloudy day in Antofagasta, especially in the afternoon. I show some of the photos of today’s clouds, there were not very special but however a bit singular. The first image it was taken during the first hours of the afternoon. As you can see the shapes are a bit unusual. At the horizon there was a horizontal layer of clouds, that only part of it can be seen at the left corner of the image.
Note the diffused silhouette of the mountain called "Cerro Moreno".
Hoy 21 de junio, comienza el invierno en el hemisferio sur, es decir hoy es el solsticio de invierno. Fue un día un poco nublado en Antofagasta, en especial en la tarde. Muestro unas fotos de las nubes de hoy, aunque no fueron de ninguna belleza especial si tenían sus “particularidades”. La primera imagen fue tomada un luego del mediodía, se puede observar que las nubes tenían una forma un “poco singular”. En el horizonte se formó una capa de nubes horizontales no muy usual, parte de ella se puede observar en la esquina izquierda inferior de la imagen. Noten la silueta difuminada del Cerro Moreno.

At the end of the day the clouds build up but for a moment there was some clear spots illuminating the sea. The second image was captured at that moment. Booth photos were taken at the same location.
Al final del día, la capa de nube fue espesándose, pero en un momento de la tarde se formaron unos claros por lo que se iluminaron secciones del mar. La segunda fotografía fue tomada justo en ese momento. Ambas imágenes fueron capturadas desde el mismo lugar.

The photos were taken in Antofagasta (Chile) with a Camera Sony ILCE-7 (A7) with lens Sony FE 28-70/3.5-5.6, and edited with Gimp.
