Today I bring you two tips to clean your iron, as time goes by and with its use we see how the iron gets a black stain that can stain and damage other garments while we iron them. So today I will give you my two favorite tips for cleaning the iron and of course with natural ingredients that we have at home.

Hoy les traigo dos tips para limpiar tu plancha, a medida que pasa el tiempo y con su uso vemos como a la plancha se le forma una mancha negra que puede manchar y dañar otras prendas mientras las planchamos. Por eso hoy les daré mis dos tips favoritos para la limpieza de la plancha y por supuesto con ingredientes naturales que tenemos en casa.
Cleaning with salt:
You will need some sheets of paper or a Cloth that you don't use.
Half a cup of salt
Clean cloth
Limpieza con Sal:
Necesitarás unas hojas de papel o una Tela que no uses
Media taza de sal
Paño limpio
Procedure:
If your iron has a water tank, throw away the water and make sure the steam or spray button is not on.
Place the salt on the sheets of paper or cloth.
Heat the iron and once it is very hot pass over the salt and rub in a circular motion or as if you were ironing, you will see how as you go rubbing the black particles are peeling off and are left in the salt, if you see that the salt is already very dirty throw the salt (you can add it to your toilet, also place baking soda, with liquid soap, a little vinegar and so you can whiten your toilet).
Procedimiento:
Si tu plancha tiene depósito de agua, botar el agua y asegurarse de que el botón de vapor o rocío no este activado.
Colocar la sal sobre las hojas de papel o la tela
Calentar la plancha y una vez esté bien caliente pasar sobre la sal e ir frotando en formar circular o como si estuvieses planchando, veras como a medida que vas frotando se va despegando las partículas negras y van quedando en la sal, si ves que la sal ya está muy sucia botas la sal (puedes agregarla a tu inodoro, colocar también bicarbonato de sodio, con jabón líquido, un poco de vinagre y así puedes blanquear tu inodoro).
Repeat the procedure with the salt until the stain disappears, then turn off and unplug the iron and carefully wipe the surface with a damp cloth (with water). If your iron is a steam iron, fill it again with water and turn on the steam, turn the iron back on and give a few light taps on the steam button to clean the holes. Just like that, your iron is clean and ready to use!
Repite el procedimiento con la sal hasta que la mancha desaparezca, luego apaga y desconecta la plancha y pasa con cuidado un paño húmedo (con agua) sobre la superficie. Si tu plancha es de vapor vuelve a llenarla con agua y activa el vapor conecta de nuevo la plancha y da unos ligeros toques al botón de vapor para que se limpien los orificios. ¡Y así de fácil, tu plancha está limpia y lista para usarse!

Another super powerful ingredient to clean our iron is Vinegar for this, you will need: a cup of hot vinegar you can place it in a spray bottle and a clean cloth.
Otro ingrediente súper potente para limpiar nuestra plancha es el Vinagre para ello, necesitarás: una taza de vinagre caliente puedes colocarlo en un atomizador y un paño limpio.
Spray the entire surface of the iron and dampen the cloth with the vinegar and then rub consistently over the surface (this technique requires a little more time and patience), repeat the same procedure until the stain is completely gone.
Rocía toda la superficie de la plancha y humedece el paño con el vinagre y luego frotas de manera consistente sobre la superficie (esta técnica requiere un poco más de tiempo y paciencia), repites el mismo procedimiento hasta que la mancha haya desaparecido por completo.
Then you wipe the iron with a damp cloth and let the iron dry.
What I do is that if the iron is very dirty I do the salt procedure first and then I do the vinegar procedure.
There are other tips using an acetaminophen tablet, also using lemon and salt. Actually, I have not tried these tips, but I am going to try them and in a future post I will tell you if they work or not.

Lo que hago yo es que si está muy sucia la plancha realizo primero el procedimiento con la sal y luego hago el del vinagre.
Hay otros tips utilizando una pastilla de acetaminofén, también usan limón y sal. Realmente, estos tips no los he probado, pero voy a probarlos y en un próximo post les contaré si funcionan o no. 😉
