This time I want to share with you a sewing project that I did out of pure necessity: it is a cotton and lycra bralette, very comfortable to wear daily 😃. Initially it was not the model I was going to make, but anyway the result was good. You will see why 😅.

En esta oportunidad quiero compartir con ustedes un proyecto de costura que hice por pura necesidad: se trata de un bralette de algodón y lycra, muy cómodo para usar a diario 😃. Inicialmente no era el modelo que iba a realizar, pero al final el resultado fue bueno. Ya verán el por qué 😅.
This type of bodice is very simple to make since you only need four pieces of fabric to form the cups: the rest is all elastic. Lately I'm dedicated to making pieces of lingerie with lace fabric, which I always save for special occasions that take a long time to arrive 😂. This made for almost no bodice to wear on a day-to-day basis, so I chose this fabric and made myself a more demure one 😂.
Este tipo de corpiño es muy sencillo de hacer ya que solo necesita cuatro piezas de tela para formar las tazas: el resto es todo elástico. Últimamente yo me dedico a hacer piezas de lencería con tela de encaje, que siempre guardo para ocasiones especiales que tardan mucho en llegar 😂. Esto hizo que no tenga casi ningún corpiño para usar en el día a día, así que elegí esta tela y me hice uno más recatado 😂.
Initially I had chosen a model with a little extra fabric under the cups and on the back for a better grip. I have already made this type of garment several times, so I thought I was very clear about the tailoring.
Inicialmente había elegido un modelo con un poco de tela adicional debajo de las copas y en la espalda para un mejor agarre. Ya hice varias veces este tipo de prenda, por lo que pensé que tenía muy clara la confección.
The first step is to join the pieces of the cups with a zigzag stitch. Sometimes my machine gets whimsical with zigzag stitching on stretch fabric and that's just what happened. As there was no thread matching the fabric, the failed stitches were exposed 😂.
El primer paso es unir las piezas de las copas con puntada zigzag. A veces mi máquina se pone caprichosa con puntada zig-zag en tela elástica y eso fue justo lo que pasó. Como no tenía hilo a tono con la tela, quedaron al descubierto las puntadas fallidas 😂.
While doing this project I was listening to some music. I was paying attention, but maybe not enough. I continued putting the elastics on the edges of the fabric. First sewing inside out and then turning to the right and to pass a second zig zag stitch.
Mientras hacía este proyecto estaba escuchando algo de música. Estaba prestando atención, pero quizás no la suficiente. Continué colocando los elasticos en los bordes de la tela. Primero cosiendo del revés y luego volteando al derecho y para pasar una segunda puntada zig zag.

This elastic sewing technique provides a very neat finish with a nice zigzag detail (if no stitch skips 😂).
Esta técnica de costura de elástico ortorga una terminacion muy prolija y con un lindo detalle de zigzag (si no salta ninguna puntada 😂).
As a next step I joined the cups to the piece below...

And that's when I noticed my mistake: when I wanted to join the cups with the pieces on the back, I realized that I couldn't because having put elastic around the edge, I no longer had space to join the fabrics well... The correct thing would have been to join all the fabrics first and put the elastics last. Unfortunately I remembered this when I had already made a mess 😂.
Y allí fue cuando noté mi error: al momento de querer unir las tazas con las piezas de la espalda me di cuenta de que no podía porque al haber puesto elastico en todo el borde ya no me quedaba espacio para unir bien las telas... Lo correcto hubiese sido unir todas las telas primero y poner los elasticos al final. Lamentablemente recordé esto cuando ya había hecho lío 😂.
Then, it occurred to me that since I already had the cups ready I could make a bralette, that is, put an elastic underneath and that's it. I measured the contour of my underbust and cut an elastic with that measurement. I sewed everything with zigzag stitch.
Entonces, se me ocurrió que como ya tenía las copas preparadas podía hacer un bralette, es decir, colocarle un elástico abajo y eso es todo. Medí el contorno de mi bajo-busto y corté un elástico con esa medida. Cosí todo con puntada zig-zag.
On the back, I placed a small two-position clasp and I also sewed two strips with a small ring each to then fasten the straps.
En la parte de la espalda coloqué un pequeño broche de dos posiciones y además cosí dos tiritas con una argollita cada una para luego engachar los breteles.

Finally, for the straps I took an elastic band and sewed it in the front part and then I made it go through a slide and the ring that I had sewn before. In this way, there is an adjustable length strap ❤️.
Finalmente, para los breteles tomé un elastico y lo cosí en la parte del frente y luego lo hice pasar por una corredera y la argollita que había cosido antes. De este modo queda un bretel de longitud regulable ❤️.

Y después del imprevisto cambio de diseño, ¡este fue el resultado final ❤️!
This project left me a very deep moral and that is that although sometimes things do not go as planned, the results can be good anyway 😂. I already released this bodice, it is very comfortable and cute. However, I do not lose hope of being able to release soon all the lace outfits that I have accumulated 😂😂😂. Meanwhile, I am entertained by sewing and sharing them with you ❤️😃.
Este proyecto me dejó una moraleja muy profunda y es que aunque a veces las cosas no salen como las habíamos planeado, los resultados pueden ser buenos de todos modos 😂. Ya estrené este corpiño, es muy cómodo y lindo. Sin embargo, no pierdo las esperanzas de poder estrenar pronto todos los conjuntos de encaje que tengo acumulados 😂😂😂. Mientras tanto, me entretengo cosiendolos y compartiéndolos con ustedes ❤️😃.
