Todos tenemos un montón de retazos de tela, pedacitos que vamos guardando y que luego se nos olvida o no sabemos qué hacer con ellos. La técnica del Patchwork nos ayuda a unir esos trozos de tela mediante la costura, bien sea a mano o a maquina de coser, otros optan por pegarla con pegamentos especiales, pero lo más recomendado es coserlos para que tengan mayor durabilidad.
Con esta técnica podemos crear muchas cosas lindas, desde manteles, cubrecamas, sábanas, cortinas, cojines, alfombras, otros más creativos crean carteras, prendas de vestir, cartucheras y se ha podido ver artes hechos con retazos de tela, representando muñecos, diseños, paisajes, entre otros.
Cosemos cada parche que recortamos, dependiendo lo que haremos, recortaremos en formas geométricas de igual tamaño que faciliten nuestra costura, mientras más diversos sean los colores y motivos de las telas, así como el hilo a emplear, más hermosos y divertidos quedarán.
Se puede hacer con cualquier tipo de tela, aunque para ciertos usos se recomienda el algodón pues son más fáciles de aplicar relleno, sin embargo, hay quienes hay trabajado con telas de pantalón de mezclilla, sedas, entre otros.
¿En qué consiste el concurso?
En Hive Diy, queremos que nos muestres tus habilidades de costura empleando la técnica de Patchwork, dale nueva vida a tus espacios o un nuevo uso a las telas que tengas guardadas esperando por tu creatividad.
La dinámica es sencilla, puedes crear lo que gustes, siempre que emplees la técnica, cuéntanos tu experiencia y los métodos de costura que usaste así como los tipos de tela. Tu creatividad es lo que cuenta, puedes hacer, desde cojines, bolsos, carteras, neceser o bolso de maquillaje, artes en cuadros, sábanas, edredones, cualquier cosa que sientas que te destacarás en su aplicación.
En nuestro concurso anterior aprendimos a través de todos los participantes sobre las técnicas de decoupage, estuvieron precisos sus proyectos, fue algo difícil elegir a los ganadores, presentamos los autores de nuestro podio de hoy:

@zullyarte nos enseñó a convertir un guacalito de fresas en una cajita multifuncional. En su publicación nos explica los materiales a usar y para darle ese estupendo acabado sus secretos reveleados: cera en pasta o vela y para lograr un super brillo barniz en spray o líquido. Zully se tomó su tiempo para explicarnos con detalle cada paso, al mismo tiempo que mostraba su alegría y entusiasmo. Felicidades Zully.

Hagamos Decoupage con tela y papel sobre madera. Let's make Decoupage with fabric and paper on wood.
@elmundodebetty nos enseñó a darle una nueva oportunidad a una vieja y maltratada alcancía de madera. Ha usado retazos de tela con motivos infantiles y una impresión que lo hizo aun más adorable. Invita a los niños en definitiva a querer cuidar de su cajita y por ende de sus ahorritos. Muy delicadamente y paso a paso nos muestra la limpieza, preparación y lijado de la superficie así como la aplicación de la técnica. Felicidades Betty.

Las preciosas cajitas que elaboró @dayadam con la técnica de decoupage quedaron tan hermosas, eligió motivos vintage y le dio ese aspecto envejecido demasiado hermoso. No solo nos enseñó su estilo en la técnica de decoupage sino también cómo aplicar el envejecido, una técnica que requiere de delicadeza y dedicación, dejando las cajitas perfectas para guardar nuestras cosas delicadas y valiosas.

We all have a lot of scraps of fabric, little pieces that we keep and then we forget or do not know what to do with them. In Hive Diy, we want you to show us your sewing skills using the Patchwork technique, give new life to your spaces or a new use to the fabrics you have stored waiting for your creativity.
The dynamics is simple, you can create whatever you like, as long as you use the technique, tell us your experience and the sewing methods you used as well as the types of fabric. Your creativity is what counts, you can make, from cushions, bags, purses, make-up bag, art in pictures, sheets, quilts, anything you feel you will stand out in its application.

@zullyarte showed us how to turn a strawberry cup into a multifunctional box. In her post she explains the materials to use and to give it that great finish her secrets revealed: paste wax or candle and to achieve a super shine spray or liquid varnish. @elmundodebetty showed us how to give an old, battered wooden piggy bank a new lease on life. She has used scraps of fabric with childish motifs and a print that made it even more adorable. It invites children to ultimately want to take care of their little box and therefore their savings. Very delicately and step by step you show us the cleaning, preparation and sanding of the surface as well as the application of the technique. Congratulations Betty.

The beautiful little boxes that @dayadam made with the decoupage technique were so beautiful, she chose vintage motifs and gave them that aged look.
