Un saludo precioso a mis queridos amigos del reciclaje y el bricolaje; solo ustedes pueden entender lo bonito que se siente darle vida con tus propias manos a una pieza que ya iba a la basura o estaba por allá olvidada en un rincón sin que nadie se diera cuenta de que estaba allí y quería tener una segunda
oportunidad.
Hoy con gran gusto vengo a mostrarles el resultado final de una mesa que hice con mis propias manos y que armé gracias a la unión de distintos materiales que conseguí en mi camino. Esta idea nace a partir de un programa de televisión donde la gente construye piezas hermosas como mesas, bancos, bares, repisas y una infinidad de cosas con tan solo limpiar, lijar, pulir, re tapizar y pintar. A todo eso es lo que llamamos reciclaje o bricolaje.
A lovely greeting to my dear friends of recycling and DIY; only you can understand how nice it feels to give life with your own hands to a piece that was already going to the trash or was over there forgotten in a corner without anyone noticing it was there and wanted to have a second chance.
Today with great pleasure I come to show you the final result of a table that I made with my own hands and that I put together thanks to the union of different materials that I got on my way. This idea comes from a TV show where people build beautiful pieces such as tables, benches, bars, shelves and an infinite number of things just by cleaning, sanding, polishing, reupholstering and painting. That's what we call recycling or do-it-yourself.

Anécdota ❤ Anecdote
Como todos saben este año ha sido un poco diferente y la gente se ha ocupado en otras cosas para matar el tiempo, algo que todos hicimos cuando esto inicio fue limpiar nuestras casas, arreglar cosas, botar otras y hasta regalar lo que ya no usábamos.
Pues bien, resulta que en el mes de Diciembre fuimos a limpiar una casa que tenemos en Higuerote y esta vez pude prestar más atención a cosas que ni siquiera había notado que existían. Entre esas cosas había algo que tenía forma como de silla, estuve a punto de sacarlo de la casa y meterla en el cuarto de los chécheres pero al darme cuenta que esta pieza era de buena madera, estaba en buen estado y tenía una hermosa forma, pensé de inmediato que podía hacer algo con ella. Así que me la traje a mi casa y poco a poco fui comprando las cosas y fui dando forma al proyecto.
As you all know this year has been a little different and people have been busy doing other things to kill time, something we all did when this started was to clean our houses, fix things, throw things away and even give away what we no longer used.
Well, it turns out that in the month of December we went to clean a house we have in Higuerote and this time I was able to pay more attention to things that I had not even noticed they existed. Among those things there was something that was shaped like a chair, I was about to take it out of the house and put it in the tack room but when I realized that this piece was made of good wood, was in good condition and had a beautiful shape, I thought immediately that I could do something with it. So I brought it to my house and little by little I was buying things and I was giving shape to the project.

Recuerdos y colaboradores detrás del proceso ❤ Memories and collaborators behind the process
Este proceso de reciclaje estuvo marcado por muchos recuerdos, en principio el recuerdo de mi padre que hacia muchas cosas para la casa, desde sillas hasta escaleras y todo eso sin ser un carpintero profesional. También recordé a mi viejita Petra quien ya partió hace un año de mi vida pero fue gracias a ella que obtuve esta tabla de donde saqué la parte de la circunferencia de la mesa. Otra persona a la que debo agradecer es a mi cuñado Jairo quien muy amablemente me escuchó y se puso a la orden para hacer el trabajo de carpintería junto con un amigo suyo. A todos les estoy agradecida por haberme ayudado de una u otra manera.
This recycling process was marked by many memories, first of all the memory of my father who made many things for the house, from chairs to stairs and all that without being a professional carpenter. I also remembered my old lady Petra who left my life a year ago but it was thanks to her that I got this board from where I got the circumference of the table. Another person I have to thank is my brother-in-law Jairo who very kindly listened to me and was willing to do the carpentry work together with a friend of his. I am grateful to all of them for helping me in one way or another.
Para la mesa se hizo otra parte más pequeña de manera que los clavos no traspasaran hasta la pieza principal, esta idea fue de Jairo y su amigo el carpintero y de verdad fue genial porque dio un mejor acabado a la mesa.
For the table another smaller part was made so that the nails did not go through to the main piece, this idea was from Jairo and his friend the carpenter and it was really great because it gave a better finish to the table.
Lija y pintura ✔ Sandpaper and paint
Luego en casa fui lijando cada parte de la superficie total de la mesa, creo que la parte que más me costó fue el hecho de que el pie o la base ya estaba pintado y tuve que aplicarme más en esa parte para tumbar lo más que pudiera el producto. En si lo que yo quería era uniformidad en el color a la hora de pintar.
Then at home I was sanding every part of the total surface of the table, I think the part that cost me the most was the fact that the foot or base was already painted and I had to apply more on that part to knock down as much as I could the product. In if what I wanted was uniformity in the color at the time of painting.
Los que son carpinteros saben que es bueno colocarle sellador luego de lijar y limpiar con un trapo húmedo, pero no pude comprar el sellador ya que es muy costoso, así que solo compré el barniz que es un buen producto se lo apliqué dos veces a la mesa.
Those who are carpenters know that it is good to put sealer after sanding and cleaning with a damp cloth, but I could not buy the sealer as it is very expensive, so I only bought the varnish which is a good product I applied it twice to the table.
Más que una obligación, reciclar es una necesidad. 🌈 More than an obligation, recycling is a necessity
Como ven, la mesa quedó hermosa y por supuesto me siento orgullosa de lo que hice. A ustedes les invito a seguir los pasos de la restauración, del reciclaje, llámese como se llame la técnica háganla, practíquenla, denle vida a esas cosas que tenemos arrinconadas, que tenemos en el olvido. Ahora que me quedó barniz y lija fina puedo seguir desarrollando otros proyectos de restauración y con esto hacer que mi casa se vea hermosa, limpia y agradable para vivir y visitar.
Espero que les haya gustado mi proyecto de hoy, como siempre les pido que se cuiden mucho, sean felices y sonrían a la vida. Ayudemos a conservar el planeta porque es nuestra única nave espacial y receurden que "No hay PLANETA B"
As you can see, the table turned out beautiful and of course I feel proud of what I did. I invite you to follow the steps of restoration, recycling, whatever you call the technique, do it, practice it, give life to those things that we have in the corner, that we have forgotten. Now that I have some varnish and fine sandpaper left, I can continue developing other restoration projects and with this I can make my house look beautiful, clean and pleasant to live and visit.
