Hola amigos, espero se encuentre muy bien. En la búsqueda de encontrar productos económicos y que aporten un sabor diferente pero agradable a nuestras preparaciones, me he encontrado en el lugar donde acostumbro comprar queso y huevos, una especie de salchicha ahumada que ahí me entere se llama Calabresa. La señora me insistió en que la probara porque eran muy ricas y lo mejor el costo muy asequible a la situación actual. Pensando en qué preparar para probar el nuevo alimento, decidí hacer nuestro delicioso arroz con pollo un plato muy característico en nuestro país y que a todos encanta, por la combinación en un solo plato de diversos vegetales, proteinas y por supuesto el arroz blanco o amarillo. Así que teniendo todos los ingredientes necesarios pasé a preparar el arroz con pollo agregándole el ingrediente nuevo que es la Calabresa.

Hello friends, I hope you are very well. In the search of finding economical products that bring a different but pleasant flavor to our preparations, I have found in the place where I usually buy cheese and eggs, a kind of smoked sausage that I learned there is called Calabresa. The lady insisted me to try it because it was very tasty and the best part was the cost, very affordable for the current situation. Thinking about what to prepare to try the new food, I decided to make our delicious rice with chicken, a very characteristic dish in our country and that everyone loves, for the combination in a single dish of various vegetables, proteins and of course the white or yellow rice. So having all the necessary ingredients I went on to prepare the rice with chicken adding the new ingredient which is the Calabrese.

INGREDIENTES//INGREDIENTS

- 3 tazas de arroz blanco. - 1 cebolla mediana. - Ajíes dulces. - 1 Cabeza de ajo pequeña. - 1 Pimentón verde pequeño. - 1/4 de Repollo. - Ajo porro. - 1 Mazorca. - 1/2 Calabresa. - Sal, pimienta y ajo.

- 3 cups of white rice. - 1 medium onion. - Sweet peppers. - 1 small head of garlic. - 1 small green bell pepper. - 1/4 cabbage. - Garlic. - 1 Corn on the cob. - 1/2 Calabrese. - Salt, pepper and garlic.

PREPARACIÓN//PREPARATION

Tomé la mazorca también conocida como jojoto y la raspé o desgrané, para luego llevar los granos de maíz a ablandar en una olla pequeña al fuego por unos 30 minutos.

I took the corn on the cob also known as jojoto and scraped or shelled it, then take the corn kernels to soften in a small pot on the fire for about 30 minutes.

En un caldero con aceite vegetal bien caliente colocamos cebolla picada en cuadros pequeños, cuando ha cristalizado agrego los ajíes dulces cortados pequeñitos , mezclamos bien y dejamos cocinar por unos 3 minutos para luego agregar el ajo porro cortado en círculos.. Dejamos cocinar un minuto más.

In a pot with very hot vegetable oil we put chopped onion in small squares, when it has crystallized I add the sweet peppers cut into small pieces, mix well and let it cook for about 3 minutes and then add the garlic cut into circles. Let it cook for another minute.

Pasamos a agregar ahora nuestro pollo picado en trozos medianos, mezclamos bien y agregamos un poco de cúrcuma rallada, una tacita de agua para disolver bien el colorante natural y luego de 2 minutos agregamos el repollo rallado o cortado en tiras.

Now add our chicken chopped into medium pieces, mix well and add a little grated turmeric, a cup of water to dissolve the natural coloring and after 2 minutes add the shredded cabbage or cut into strips.

Luego de cocido el repollo unos 2 minutos, agregamos las tazas de arroz y agua necesaria para que se cocine, así como el maíz que luego de haberse ablandado colamos para incorporar a nuestra preparación.

After cooking the cabbage for about 2 minutes, we add the cups of rice and water necessary to cook it, as well as the corn that after having softened we strain to incorporate to our preparation.

Mientras el arroz y el pollo se cocinan cortamos la calabresa en trozos pequeños y los llevamos a freír para que suelten todo su sabor, deben quedar un tanto crujientes. En este momento se lo agregamos a la preparación y cuando a bajado el agua y ya va a formar los característicos huecos colocamos el pimentón en tiras a modo de decoración y dejamos que termine de cocinar a fuego bajo y tapado, nuestro arroz con pollo.

While the rice and chicken are cooking, we cut the calabrese into small pieces and fry them to release all their flavor, they should be a little crunchy. At this moment we add it to the preparation and when the water has gone down and it is going to form the characteristic hollows we place the paprika in strips as decoration and we let it finish cooking over low heat and covered, our rice with chicken.

Al tener la consistencia requerida el arroz, pasamos a servir y disfrutar calientito de un delicioso arroz con pollo, calabresa y maiz super rico.

When the rice has the required consistency, we serve and enjoy a delicious rice with chicken, calabrese and corn.

Quedamos muy agradados con la calabresa y tratamos de comprarla una vez al mes por lo menos y disfrutar con otros preparados como pizzas o arepas para variar los sabores. Espero les haya gustado esta receta y la puedan disfrutar. Saludos y nos seguimos leyendo.
