Newcomer Peacock Butterfly

Hello Guys... How are you today?

Today, I am very lucky! you know why? Because I found a butterfly that is very rarely seen here in my city, namely Lhokseumawe Aceh, since the last 10 years, it is very rare to see this type of butterfly, what we often encounter is a monarch butterfly or the like. Today, seeing him again for a long time, seeing him was a stroke of luck as this was very rare. His name has also long since sunk due to his long absence. I know him very well because, we are here calling it Peacock Butterfly, does your area also give it a name like that?

(Junonia Hübner or peacock butterfly ™2021)

Here in our area in particular, to name an object, especially something that is rarely seen is very easy, because it refers to the profile of the object itself. Since this type of butterfly has a motive on its wings in the form of the eyes of the Bird of Peacock, it spontaneously named it Peacock Butterfly.

Then some Indonesians called it Peacoock Pansy, while in another common language it was called Junonia Hübner. But never mind, why are we arguing with a name, because each region has its own language in naming an object, essentially by mentioning it understands or recognizes an object itself.

However, to understand it further, I will write down some of the criteria of those who are well-known in the world of entomologists, while their introduction description is taken in the 9th grade biology teacher's handbook. Here are some descriptions about it:

This butterfly, when first met with it, is so shy that when approached it always moves from one point to another. However, I continued to follow him and he was always perched on every leafy or dense plant, making it very difficult to approach. A very prominent characteristic of other types of butterflies is that when he perches on each leaf, he likes to perch with his head down or stand upside down with his body down.

Although occasionally he prefers to stand upside down, he still stands perched on each tree in the usual manner of other butterflies or stands as normal as other butterflies do.

Their presence here is very few, since the presence of only a few traces, they seem to have a perfect match, although sometimes other monarch butterflies follow. But he always refuses the presence of other species, perhaps not considered his partner or soul mate, so he always avoids every other butterfly chasing.

His agility in flying when he glides is very good at utilizing the wind around his wings, which makes me even more excited to observe him because he makes perfect maneuvers, like a kite flying high in the sky. Seeing his agility in dodging every movement of the other butterflies that followed was amazing, but unfortunately, didn't get to catch him because of the limited opportunity to aim at him while performing the action.

They chased each other for almost 2 hours so that the monarch butterfly gave up and rested on one of the leaves of the kapok tree. Then the Peacock stopped on a green grass while resting after doing a serious action in a horrendous attraction.

Here, this Peacock butterfly, looks dashing in its flight as well as the previous monarch butterfly, they are just as hard at fulfilling their respective ambitions, but the end of the story they are separated in each location, the Peacock butterfly rests on the green grass.

Well... on this occasion I had the opportunity to aim for it, and from close I saw each of its bodies clearly, it turned out that the tips of their wings had been torn off due to a long tiring search and had happened in the last 2 hours, they did it perfectly in the air. Her reddish-brown wings look beautiful with peacock eye motifs attached to her body. The eye motif that almost resembles a peacock is his trademark. The eyes are found on two wings in perfect numbers, namely two pairs of eyes on the left wing and two pairs of eyes on the right wing.

Seeing the eye motif on its two wings which is similar to the eye motif on the wings of a peacock, when the wings are beautifully flapped, it is clear why people here call this Butterfly as the Peacock Butterfly.

So today's experience, on the sidelines of my days, I hope this writing is useful for all of us.
