Today I want to share some images that I made of a quite peculiar spider a few days ago on my last outing in the forest.
This spider is called Pisaura mirabilis or wolf spider, it can grow to a maximum of two centimeters, its color ranges from reddish brown to gray.
What caught my attention when I saw this spider was its peculiar shape, since something that differentiates it from other spiders is the shape of its front legs and the position in which it holds them, totally together.
It usually feeds on flies and grasshoppers, in addition to many other insects, it hunts them by quickly catching them with its front legs, its predators are wasps and birds.
She likes humid places, it is where she usually lives, for example near the shore of a river, she camouflages very well among plants and flowers, personally I have only been able to see her twice.
