Detrás de una piñata hay mucho mas de lo que las personas imaginan.
La gente necesita entender que no están pagando por unos cartones decorados como me dijeron una vez, y se que a muchos les ha pasado esto.
Además de la pasión que sentimos los que nos dedicamos a esto por amor, están las horas de trabajo invertidas, los retos que ponen los mismos clientes, e incluso los conocimientos que no todos tienen que garantizan, por ejemplo, la resistencia de una piñata.
Aunque hay varios métodos para armar estas tradicionales estructuras, no todas resultan tan efectivas para soportar los impactos de los participantes que buscan romperlas.
Cuando armo una piñata me enfoco principalmente en que el alambre del cual están colgadas, este en un punto bastante estratégico, un punto en el que pueda sostener desde varios puntos la piñata y que no se suelte con facilidad. Este punto a su vez depende del tamaño total que vaya a tener la estructura y del peso estimado que deba soportar.

En esta ocasión estaba armando una piñata de 60 cm con forma de 5. Es una piñata de tamaño medio, pero el tener forma de 5 disminuye la capacidad, por lo que no va a ser una piñata demasiado pesada. Decidí colocar el alambre desde la mitad para que no se deformara el resto de la estructura y en este punto conseguí un buen centro de gravedad que me permitió darle un soporte excelente.

Luego de por lo menos 3 horas armando la estructura, finalmente la piñata ya esta lista para decorarse.
Cuando son piñatas mas grandes o de mayor capacidad, llevo el alambre desde abajo y lo voy sosteniendo por toda la estructura en varios puntos y refuerzo internamente el carton para que no se raje con el peso y esto ha funcionado perfectamente.
Honestamente esta no es mi parte favorita de este trabajo. Cuido mucho mis manos y por lo general en este proceso se parten varias uñas =(
Cuando termina, comienza la verdadera diversión.

Recorto el papel; dependiendo de la temática o del efecto que esté buscando lo puedo recortar de forma recta, en zigzag o curvas, pego nivel tras nivel de los colores que necesito hasta forrar toda la piñata.
Como los bordes quedan desaliñados, les doy terminación pegando en toda la figura una cinta de papel de un color que combine y contraste en el diseño.
Y aunque suena fácil, son otro par de horas que se le dedica a esta parte del trabajo.

Finalmente viene el momento de los detalles, en ese tipo de piñatas es mucho mas sencillo este paso ya que solo se trata de recortar y pegar las imágenes.
Si se tratase de una piñata con la silueta de un personaje, comienzan unas horas mas de trabajo poniendo en su lugar cada uno de los detalles, por ejemplo, si estamos hablando de una piñata de uno de los cachorros de Paw Patrol hay que realizar en otro material las manchas, el casco, los rasgos como ojos, nariz, boca, las insignias, entre otras cosas.
Aquí es cuando todo va tomando forma, cuando ya tu trabajo se comienza a parecer al diseño original acordado con el cliente. Donde decides si estas conforme o si sientes que le falta un - no se que - .
Es cierto que la práctica hace al maestro y definitivamente cada vez se hace mas facil, esto no significa que no exista un esfuerzo o que el trabajo valga menos.
Afortunadamente en mi camino han sido muy pocas las personas con las que me he topado que han desestimado mi trabajo, siempre son mas las que reconocen el esfuerzo y el amor con el que hago las cosas y son esas las cosas que realmente me llenan y me hacen amar lo que hago.
