OK so today I will be taking us on steps of making objects from papier-mâché

First what is papier-mâché?
It is a torn-up paper and other possible materials mixed with paste or glue used to create, when the mass is dried, a surprisingly durable sculptural object.
Now let's look at the materials for making this papier-mâché, these materials are as follows;

1. Newspaper
2. Starch
3. Water
4. Clean Stone or mortar and pestle for pounding
5. Object to be used
6. Palm oil.

Step 1:- Get an old newspaper,

and tear it into tiny sizeable size or pieces;

Step 2:- Get a bucket and then you the tiny pieces of newspaper inside of it, add water to it depending on the quantity of the newspaper, then open your starch and pour it into the newspaper, mix it and keep it for three to four days, where the starch has circulated into all the parts of the newspaper;

Step 3:- After three to four days you bring it out put it in a mortar or a clean igneous rock and pound it till it scatters and become very soft;

Step 4:- Pick up the object you want to produce, rub oil on it, precisely palm oil. The purpose of rubbing the palm oil on the surface of the object is for you to be able to remove the suppose papier-mâché when its dried up on the object used.

Step 5:- After rubbing the oil on the object maybe plate, especially stainless plate, since the rubber substance tends to cause the pounded newspaper to fall off when its being placed on the surface, so I opted to using a stainless plate.

Step 6:- After placing the palm oil on the surface of the object, picked up the already pounded newspaper and place it round the object depending on how it looks like. When you are sure you have placed it well, you take it under the sun for it to dry, leave it for about two to three days.

Step 7:- When you are sure its all dried up, you try detaching the papier-mâché from the object you used, and boom your papier-mâché is ready.
