Hello friends, this time participating somewhat late in the CREATIVE RECYCLING CHALLENGE, because I missed the previous one. I don't have internet at home, so I have to move elsewhere to be able to share my work. I hope I was not late again. This time I made a miniature Wild West Rifle for my father. He likes western movies a lot and so do I. Some time ago I made a Winchester model of a rifle used by John Wayne in his movies, this time I made an 1860 Henry used in many movies. Hope you like.
Hola amigos, esta vez participando algo tarde en el CREATIVE RECYCLING CHALLENGE, porque el anterior me lo perdí. Ya en mi casa no tengo internet por lo que tengo que movilizarme a otra parte para poder compartir mis trabajos. Espero no haber llegado tarde otra vez. Esta vez he hecho para mi padre un Rifle del salvaje oeste en miniatura. A él le gustan mucho las películas de western y a mi tambien. Hace tiempo hice un modelo Winchester de un rifle usado por John Wayne en sus películas, esta vez hice un Henry de 1860 utilizado en muchas peliculas. Espero que les guste.
For this work we will use wood, cardboard, soda can, copper and super glue. We draw the stock of the rifle on a cardboard to use as a template and we put it on top of the wood to draw the shape it will have.
Para este trabajo utilizaremos madera, cartulina, lata de soda, cobre y super pegamento. Dibujamos la culata del rifle sobre una cartulina para usarlo como plantilla y la ponemos encima de la madera para dibujar la forma que tendrá.
The next step after drawing with the template is to cut the wood, we can use a wood saw and cut carefully following the line we draw. Then with a knife we better delineate the edges and with a sandpaper we finish shaping.
El siguiente paso luego de dibujar con la plantilla es cortar la madera, podemos utilizar una sierra para madera y cortamos con cuidado siguiendo la linea que trazamos. Después con una navaja delineamos mejor los bordes y con una lija terminamos de dar forma.
When we have finished sanding and molding all the part of the wood we will place some metal plates that have where the trigger goes, we must cover it all. That is why with a soda can we cut the pieces that we will need using the same shape that we cut before in the cardboard. With glue we are placing each sheet in its place.
Cuando hayamos terminado de lijar y moldear toda la parte de la madera colocaremos unas placas de metal que tiene por donde va el gatillo, debemos recubrirla toda. Por eso con lata de soda cortamos los pedazos que necesitaremos utilizando la misma forma que cortamos antes en la cartulina. Con pegamento vamos colocando cada lámina en su lugar.
Then we went on to make the cannons, with a beer can we cut two strips of 10 centimeters long and turned it into tubes. With black paint we paint them to make it look better. Then we make two holes in the wooden part where we will introduce the tubes. To finish the tubes we will place two rings made with cans so that it is fixed and with a more realistic appearance.
Después pasamos a hacer los cañones, con lata de cerveza cortamos dos tiras de 10 centimetros de largo y la convertimos en unos tubos. COn pintura negra los pintamos para que quede mejor. Luego hacemos dos agujeros en la parte de madera donde introduciremos los tubos. Para finalizar a los tubos colocaremos dos anillos hechos con latas para que quede fijado y con un aspecto más realista.
This is how the final work has remained, if we compare it with the rifle I made previously, you can see the difference, and that is that the Henry and the Winchester rifles have their marked differences even though the Winchester is a more modern variation of the Henry. I have given both rifles to my father, however I still do not have a stand for the Henry Rifle so I borrowed the one from the Winchester, is that I ran out of wood, but soon I will look for it to make it. I hope you have liked my humble contribution, I do it with great respect for my father from whom I inherited so many things and I am grateful to have him alive. Así ha quedado el trabajo final, si lo comparamos con el rifle que hice anteriormente se puede notar la diferencia, y es que los rifles Henry y los Winchester tienen sus marcadas diferencias aun cuando el Winchester es una variación mas moderna del Henry. Ambos rifles se los he regalado a mi papá, sin embargo aun no tengo un pedestal para el Rifle Henry por eso tomé prestado el del Winchester, es que se me terminó la madera, pero pronto la buscaré para hacerla. Espero les haya gustado mi humilde aporte, lo hago con mucho respeto hacia mi padre de quien heredé tantas cosas y me siento agradecido de tenerlo con vida.
