Hola amigos de #Build-it. Paso por aquí una vez más en ocasión de participar en el concurso promocionado por @la-taguara el cual consiste en elaborar una manualidad partiendo de materia prima reciclada. Todos sabemos y estamos conscientes del uso posterior que podemos darle a muchos materiales que van quedando como desecho luego de adquirir algunos bienes, pues bien, de esto se trata; vamos a prolongar la vida de estos materiales y así estaremos contribuyendo con la conservación del ambiente.

Hello #Build-it friends. I'm here once again to participate in the contest promoted by @la-taguara which consists of making a craft from recycled raw materials. We all know and are aware of the later use we can give to many materials that are left as waste after acquiring some goods, well, this is what it's all about; we will prolong the life of these materials and thus we will be contributing to the conservation of the environment.

Yo soy Lelys y los invito a realizar este lindo proyecto. Haremos un costurero con envase de margarina.Te muestro el paso a paso.

Materiales:

• Envase de margarina vacío, limpio y seco.
• Retazos de telas.
• Cinta métrica.
• Tijeras.
• Pegamento.
• Hilos de coser.
• Aguja de coser.
• Cintas o abalorios. Apliques o detalles para decorar. (Opcional)

I am Lelys and I invite you to make this beautiful project. We will make a sewing box with a margarine container and I show you the step by step.

Materials:

• Empty margarine container, clean and dry.
• Fabric scraps.
• Tape measure.
• Scissors.
• Glue.
• Sewing threads.
• Sewing needle.
• Ribbons or beads. Appliqués or details to decorate. (Optional)

Procedimiento:

• Empezamos forrando la tapa. Cortamos y medimos del tamaño que se ajuste al de la tapa del envase. Recorta y cubre la tapa en su totalidad, por ambos lados.
• Coloca pegamento de secado rápido y luego corta las orillas. Como mi tela es hilachoza le pasé un poco de fuego con un yesquero por todo los bordes.

Procedure:

• Start by lining the lid. Cut and measure the size that fits the size of the lid of the container. Cut out and cover the lid in its entirety, on both sides.
• Put quick dry glue and then cut the edges. Since my fabric is spunbonded, I used a little fire with a tinderbox all around the edges.

• En mi costurero utilicé una tela bastante gruesa de tapicería estampada y una semi elástica color marrón oscuro. No conozco el nombre de las telas, pido disculpas.
• Con la de tapicería forramos la parte externa del envase. Utilicé pegamento rápido (silicón caliente) colocando sólo unos puntos ya que el envase es plástico.
• Forramos todo el envase, laterales y la base.
• Al finalizar haremos la unión entre la tapa y el envase con un trocito de tela estampada. La pegaremos o cosemos a la tapa desde la orilla y luego al envase por la parte de atrás.

• In my sewing box I used a fairly thick patterned upholstery fabric and a dark brown semi-elastic one. I do not know the name of the fabrics, I apologize.
• With the upholstery fabric we lined the outside of the container. I used quick glue (hot silicone) placing only a few points since the container is plastic.
• We lined the entire container, sides and base.
• At the end we will make the union between the lid and the container with a small piece of printed fabric. We will glue or sew it to the lid from the edge and then to the container from the back.

• Con la tela marrón cortaremos una tira horizontal de 11 cm de largo por 7 cm de alto.
• Colocamos pegamento frío dentro del envase justo por las orillas superiores y paredes del envase. Procedemos a pegar cuidadosamente la tela.
• Luego cortamos un trozo de tela marrón del tamaño de la base del envase. Colocamos pegamento y lo introducimos para cubrir el fondo del envase y esconder las otras telas.

• With the brown fabric we will cut a horizontal strip of 11 cm long by 7 cm high.
• We place cold glue inside the container just along the top edges and walls of the container. We proceed to carefully glue the fabric.
• Then we cut a piece of brown fabric the size of the base of the container. Place glue and insert it to cover the bottom of the container and hide the other fabrics.

• Para agregar un detalle de utilidad realicé un alfiletero en forma de caramelo. Corté un rectángulo en la tela estampada, lo enrollé y coloqué algodón siliconado.
• Luego lo cosí con hilo de coser amarillo.
• En las esquinas realicé unas vueltas con hilo estambre color azul rey. Anudé muy bien.
• Finalmente lo pegué sobre la tapa del costurero.

• To add a useful detail I made a pincushion in the shape of a candy. I cut a rectangle out of the patterned fabric, rolled it up and placed siliconed cotton.
• Then I sewed it with yellow sewing thread.
• At the corners I made a few turns with royal blue worsted thread. I knotted it very well.
• Finally I glued it on the lid of the sewing box.

• Puedes añadir otros detalles si es tu gusto. Yo trabajé con uno de los retazos que tenía, me alcanzó justo. Me gustó mucho el resultado. Ahora ya tengo un Costurero portátil para llevar mis implementos básicos a donde quiera que voy.

• You can add other details if you like. I worked with one of the scraps I had, it was just enough. I really liked the result. Now I have a Portable Sewing Box to carry my basic supplies wherever I go.
