El desafío WIP de NeedleWorkMonday. 2da parte / The NeedleWorkMonday WIP Challenge. 2nd part
Hello everyone in the NeedleWorkMonday community.
.
Today I came to show you the progress I have made in the challenge ¨NeedleWorkMonday's WIP Challenge!.
And I want to tell you that there have been some changes, this is because these days I made a publication with the patchwork technique and I loved how the cover for the bench turned out, so I decided to apply it to this new project.
.
As I have to make a tie because it had been made with smaller measurements, as I explained in the first part, then I decided to apply the patchwork technique to the piece, which would be perfect, and with this technique the design would stand out.
.
So to achieve this I did some transformations.First, redesign the sketch. And now the new model will be like this.
According to this sketch, it says that I have to make 22 squares or doilies with the patchwork technique.
Also, since the contest is a challenge, I want to add something else to it, I also want to cork it as the cover for the stool, but since I don't have enough foam to do it. I am going to cut a mattress from an old cushion to be able to quilt it, even if it is in squares to highlight it a little more. For this I did the following
Paso 1
.
Step 1
Cut 22 squares in the red wine fabric that will be the center of each doily.
Besides, I cut another 22 squares of the same size as the first ones, but in different colors.
Paso 2
.
Step 2
The second step is to place each two squares, face to face and sew them on the wrong side.
Paso 3
Step 3
Then cut the stamped piece in X as shown in the photo
Paso 4
Step 4
After minced open and iron, to stretch the piece. This is done each time the operation is repeated for a better finish.
Paso 5
step 5
After stretching the piece, another 22 new pieces are minced to match them. So these must be the same size as the piece, that's why it must be stretched and ironed. And the same procedure is followed as at the beginning, they are placed face to face and sewn on the reverse
In this case, the piece that is going to be cut into an X is the new piece.
And it will always be the new piece that is minced, each time the operation is repeated, until the desired size is completed.
Paso 6
step 6
After finishing the cloths I am going to join them with a piece of fabric, between one and the other following the sketch, but I still do not know the size of the piece of fabric, once I have assembled the piece the size of the mattress, I will proceed to quilting it and then I will hit the faralao. But so far I only have a few wipes finished I'm missing most. So it will be up to a new opportunity when I present the finished product.
