Hello dear needleworkers, I hope you are well, and I wish you a new year full of Blessings, opportunities and successes.
Although I have been a bit absent in the community due to other activities that occupy me, I still try to make time to share a little of my projects. This time I want to show you a beach dress that I made for Kalany inspired by a dress that Jennifer Aniston wore in the movie A Lying Wife.
I liked this dress a lot and I have always wanted to knit it, this time I did it to scale to see how complicated it can be and who better than my Kalany doll to be the model.
The dress is not really complicated or difficult to knit. The stitch that it has is a very simple openwork stitch, however, for the sample that I made on my doll I knit a different stitch since the thread I use is very thick for the size for such a small dress, but for a size dress I really think that if it would be very good.
MATERIALS
For this dress use an acrylic thread and a crochet needle number 0 (very thin), however to make the dress in real size you should use a needle number 3 approximately, so that the stitch is looser and the garment is lighter.
STEP BY STEP
The first thing I did was knit 2 rectangles in openwork stitch.
The length measurement is from the shoulder to cover the bust and is multiplied by 2, the width of each rectangle is from the armhole to the center of the bust.
After knitting the 2 rectangles they are secured with the fabric spacers and joined by knitting all the way around in single crochets.
After joining the two rectangles, I knit 2 rows of high crochets to form the waist, (in the original dress the waist is knitted in openwork stitch). After the skirt is started, the skirt is made in point V. When you finish knitting the length of the skirt, 2 single crochets are knitted and a stitch is made that gives it a bit of waves for the edge or hem of the dress.
To finish, I sewed the sides with a yarn needle to form the sleeve .
This was the result, I hope you like it, I would like to see your recommendations in the comments since I hope to be able to knit the dress in real size for my daughter one day. Thanks for reading, until a next post.
