NEEDLEWORK|| A knitted top for my niece 🧶🧶

Bendecido día mis queridos needleworkers,espero que hayan tenido una estupenda semana.

Es un gusto volver a compartir con ustedes y poder mostrarles lo que he estado tejiendo ultimamente.
Hace unos días mi mamá me mostró un par de vestidos que le tejí a mi sobrina menor cuando apenas era una bebé. Esos fueron los primeros vestidos que elaboré a crochet.
Recuerdo que los tejí siguiendo un tutorial de You tube y debo confesar que en ese entonces mi puntada no era tan prolija.
Al volver a ver los vestidos me emocioné un poco, ya que estos los tejí cuando estaba en Perú y los envié a Venezuela como regalo para mi sobrina.

It is a pleasure to share with you again and to show you what I have been knitting lately.
A few days ago my mom showed me a couple of dresses I knitted for my youngest niece when she was just a baby. Those were the first dresses I crocheted.
I remember that I knitted them following a tutorial on You tube and I must confess that at that time my stitch was not so neat.
When I saw the dresses again I got a little excited, since I knitted them when I was in Peru and sent them to Venezuela as a gift for my niece.

Después de tener en mis manos ambos vestidos, se me ocurrió la idea de realizar una transformación y convertirlos en alguna prenda que mi sobrina pueda usar ahora que tiene cuatro años. Con el primer vestido de color azul, decidí hacer un pequeño top, que es el que les quiero mostrar hoy.

After having both dresses in my hands, I had the idea of transforming them into something that my niece can wear now that she is four years old. With the first blue dress, I decided to make a little top, which is the one I want to show you today.

Este top quise tejerlo con un cuello cuadrado, así que comencé a tejer el canesú como si fuese a tejer un vestido. Trabajé con una puntada sencilla de modo que pudiera avanzar rápido y que el hilo pudiera alcanzar para toda la prenda.

I wanted to knit this top with a square neckline, so I started knitting the yoke as if I were knitting a dress. I worked with a single stitch so that I could go fast and the yarn could reach for the whole garment.

Después de tejer el cuello, realicé la separación de la parte delantera, la espalda y ambas mangas. Tejí dos vueltas en color blanco a manera de adorno y luego seguí tejindo el resto del top.

After knitting the neck, I knitted the separation of the front, back and both sleeves. I knit two rounds in white as a trim and then continued knitting the rest of the top.

Para las mangas decidí darles un poco de vuelo al tejer dos vueltas en grupos de abanicos en color blanco. Cada abanico está formado por seis puntos altos cada uno.

For the sleeves I decided to give them a little flight by knitting two rounds in groups of white fans. Each fan is made up of six high stitches each.

Cuando terminé de tejer el top me dí cuenta que estaba muy pequeño. Creo que me dejé llevar por la emoción y que cometí el error de trabajar sin las medidas de mi sobrina, quien ya es toda una niña grande (como ella misma dice). Lo más probable es que tenga que volver a tejer esta prenda, pero antes de iniciar mi labor, iré a visitar a mi sobrina y le tomaré las medidas que necesitaré para elaborar la prenda.

Lo que más me gustó de hacer esta transformación es que me dí cuenta de lo mucho que he avanzado como crochetera, ya que el vestido origial lo tejí con la ayuda de un tutorial, en cambio este top lo tejí sin ningún patrón, solo quería que fuera simple y sencillo de tejer.

Pronto les mostraré las próximas transfromaciones que haré para mi pequeña y linda sobrina.

When I finished knitting the top I realized that it was too small. I think I got carried away and made the mistake of working without the measurements of my niece, who is now a big girl (as she herself says). I will probably have to knit this garment again, but before I start my work, I will visit my niece and take the measurements I will need to make the garment.
What I liked the most about making this transformation is that I realized how much I have advanced as a crocheter, since I knitted the original dress with the help of a tutorial, but I knitted this top without any pattern, I just wanted it to be simple and easy to knit.

Soon I will show you the next transfromations I will make for my cute little niece.
