Hello my dear needleworkers, today I am pleasantly excited to participate again in a new challenge of our beloved community @needleworkmmonday, in which we must elaborate a detail to some Hiver that we consider our friend or friend. I think this initiative is really very nice and it is one more way to connect with our fellow Hivers.
For me it was not difficult at all to decide which would be my Valentine's Hiver, since although I have met many beautiful people in this community, she was the person who invited me to venture into this platform and who somehow led me to NeedleWorkMonday. , The person I chose to carry out a project for him was my friend @creacioneslelys.
We both share a passion for crochet and the art of creating. Besides that, we share the vocation of teaching and training since we are both teachers. We met approximately 13 years ago at the educational institution where we worked together for several years. We became good friends and were able to share pleasant moments. Now we meet again but this time through this great community such as HIVE.
To develop the project I had to think a lot because I wanted to do something different from what I usually do, that is, get out of my comfort zone and do something that would take a little more effort since I was going to dedicate it to someone very talented in crochet as is @creacioneslelys.
That is why she decides to use a technique that I really like but have not mastered yet, but she sure knows it and masters it very well. It is the TAPESTRY CROCHET technique. This technique basically consists of creating figures and shapes in the fabric using threads of different colors at the same time.
This technique is worked with patterns similar to those of cross stitch and the main stitch is the single crochet. It is knitted with the second color of yarn hidden inside the fabric. As I am a novice with this trapestry technique, I do not dare to do a tutorial on it but I do show you in photographs the step by step of the process.
The project I made was a cover for a coffee cup, because my friend Lelys and I also share a taste for coffee, and although we are now geographically distant, someday, with God's favor, we will have a drink again. delicious Venezuelan coffee together, talking between yarns, needles and threads. Happy Valentine's Day for You @creacioneslelys Thanks for your friendship!
