Hello dear needleworkers 🤗, I must say that I am very excited to be able to do this post, because I will be able to show you what I have been working on lately.
Pero antes de iniciar con el tutorial, me gustaría explicarle un poco el nombre del post, "moda geométrica". Les comento que las matemáticas no son mi punto fuerte, comprendo bastante bien la aritmética, el algebra y la estadística pero les confieso que no me agrada para nada la geometría. Sin embargo, recientemente me ha tocado estudiar todo eso para poder ayudar a mi hija con sus tareas del colegio.
But before starting with the tutorial, I would like to explain a little the name of the post, "geometric fashion". I tell you that mathematics is not my strong point, I understand arithmetic, algebra and statistics quite well but I confess that I do not like geometry at all. However, recently I have had to study all that in order to help my daughter with her homework at her school.
Supongo que a estas alturas se estarán preguntando: ¿Qué tiene que ver las matemáticas o la geometría con el tejido?
Pues déjenme decirles que mi profesor de bachillerato tenía razón "las matemáticas están en todo" y el tejido o la costura no son la excepción.
I suppose you are wondering by now: What does mathematics or geometry have to do with weaving?
Well let me tell you that my high school teacher was right "mathematics is in everything" and knitting or sewing are no exception.
Cada vez que inicio un nuevo proyecto usando patrones de la web o de tutoriales de you tube , me doy cuenta que debo usar las matemáticas en todo momento, generalmente para elaborar los motivos o los puntos fantasía, debemos calcular el numero de cadenas base en función de múltiplos. Por ejemplo, para algunos motivos las cadenas base deben ser números pares o múltiplos de 2, 4, 6 etc.
Every time I start a new project using patterns from the web or from YouTube tutorials, I realize that I must use mathematics at all times, generally to elaborate the motifs or fantasy points, we must calculate the number of base strings based on of multiples. For example, for some reasons the base strings must be even numbers or multiples of 2, 4, 6 etc.
Pues lo mismo pasa con las figuras geométricas, cuando aprendí a tejer los cuadrados granny quedé fascinada de la cantidad de cosas diferentes que se pueden hacer uniendo varios cuadrados.
Hay muchísimos proyectos que se comienzan tejiendo un círculo, un rectángulo, un cuadrado o un triángulo. Como es el caso de la prenda que les voy a mostrar hoy.
Well, the same thing happens with geometric figures, when I learned how to weave granny squares I was fascinated by the amount of different things that can be made by joining several squares.
There are many projects that start by weaving a circle, a rectangle, a square or a triangle. As is the case with the garment that I am going to show you today.
Ya en una oportunidad les mostré como elaborar un lindo conejito partiendo de un cuadrado tejido.
En esta oportunidad les voy a mostrar como podemos elaborar lindos y sencillos tops a partir de 4 triángulos granny. Para no hacer el cuento más largo comenzamos, mostrando el patrón a seguir y los materiales a utilizar.
On one occasion I showed them how to make a cute bunny starting from a woven square.
This time I am going to show you how we can make cute and simple tops from 4 granny triangles. To cut a long story short, we begin by showing the pattern to follow and the materials to be used.
For this project I used 100% cotton pyma yarn. I really loved this type of material, it is very soft and fresh and with very nice nuanced colors. For a garment of this size use only 100 g of thread.I also used a 3mm needle and scissors.
Paso a paso / Step by step
To make this garment, 4 triangles must be made following the pattern. The number of turns for each triangle will depend on the desired size for the top.
In my case for a size 12 or small for girls, I made 4 triangles of 7 rounds and after joining them I continued with 2 more rounds for a total of 9 rounds.
Then the 4 triangles are joined and continue to knit 2 additional rounds.
After joining the 4 triangles, we will have the bust part of our top formed. Then we will begin to knit the body, using an openwork stitch of your choice. For this model I worked a round with 2 treble crochets separated by a chain and the next round 2 chains and a single crochet in the separating chain from the previous round. And so he wove the whole body with that sequence until he reached the desired length.
Then to finish, we knit the throws and a lace for the edge of the top and we already have a simple, beautiful, easy and quick garment to make. With this pattern, these cute tops can be made in various designs using our crocheting imagination, just by changing the stitch, the edge, the throws or adding a nice application we will have a unique and personalized garment, as I show you below.
It has been a pleasure for me to share this project since it is something that has me very motivated, it has always been my dream to create woven clothes and this time it is clothes for girls and young people, the idea is to be able to sell them and be able to generate an income by making of the things that I like the most.
