Hello my dear needleworkers, I hope you are well, today I would like to show you a recount of the dresses I have knitted for my dear Kalanny. That's why this week's Needleworkmonday publication has the title: "Kalanny's fashion week".
Since Kalanny and I started our journey together, we have had a great connection, we have made a great team, me as a designer and knitter, and her as a model of the dresses. The truth is that I think that having a doll to serve as a model was what I needed to make my dream of making knitted dresses come true; because this way I can make them in a scale size, without running the risk of wasting time and material.
The first outfit I knitted for Kalanny was the outfit to participate in the Needleworkmonday Barbies contest. This contest made me want to have my own doll and that's how I found Kalanny. For this contest I designed a one shoulder mermaid cut dress in a beautiful coral shade. I was very proud of the result and very happy with the acceptance of this first outfit.
After the contest I was very motivated to continue knitting Barbie dresses. Another source of inspiration has been the creations of my friends in the community @creacioneslelys, @lauramica, @jicrochet among other friends who make excellent Barbie outfits. I see more and more people in the community interested in sewing or knitting for Barbie, so I have a feeling that the second edition of the @needlewormonday contest is going to be super exciting. And if you don't have your Barbie yet, you have time to get one and start practicing.
Something I have discovered as I have knitted for Kalanny, is that I love to replicate dresses. It is very exciting for me to make a crochet version of some dresses that have fascinated me and that for obvious reasons I could not make in real size. The whole process is wonderful for me and I am very anxious to see the final result, in all of them I have been very satisfied and very pleased, I also appreciate the receptivity that this kind of publications have had. And it just occurred to me (with the permission of our dear @crosheille and the other administrators) that there should be a tag #barbiefashion, or something like that within our community.
Muchas gracias por seguir mi evolución como tejedora y por apoyar mis publicaciones. Nos vemos en un próximo Lunes de agujas. Saludos y bendiciones.
This post shows most of the outfits I have knitted so far, I hope very soon to publish new replica dresses and a collection of clothes for winter, since this country we are at the beginning of the season.
Thank you very much for following my evolution as a knitter and for supporting my publications. See you in the next Needle Monday. Greetings and blessings.
