NeedleworkMonday contest|| Needlework Your Barbie

Hello hivers! It's almost 3 weeks since I made my last post here. And I admit that I missed so many things in here including the awesome post in @needleworkmonday community. It's just that problems after problems been piling up and I was overwhelmed by the effect on it. Until now, I was still mending the broken pieces on me. But life must goes on. I still have the reasons to get up and fight. And I have to start it where people can appreciate my works and know my value. Eversince I started here, #needleworkmonday community became my home. And now I'm back!

After @lauramica posted her 1st dress up the barbie here, she suggest to make my crochet version of the dress I want for the doll. But before I could make it, a contest was announced by @crosheille. Actually I was excited and was thinking of different designs. When I was still a kid I remember handsewing some dresses from the scrap fabric that was left from what my mom been sewing. And then when I learned to crochet, I also made 2 dresses for a doll, but it was a long time ago. So here is my entry on the said contest. A bridal gown for my barbie.

I used single ply mercerized cotton in white color since it is the only available white color in my stash.

First, I make a tube starting from the very top and as I go down, I make a decreasing effect to fit on the belly side. And on the waist, I make 5 double crochet on each stitches to achieve the balloon like gown.

As I was staring on what I have done, I accidentally saw one of my unfinished project, which is a baby santa claus with color red yarn and white feathered yarn. I decided to add some feathery effect on the edges. The bottom, top and the offshoulder part.

To emphasize the balloon gown, I also made a lining made of cloth.

And since I can't find a suitable beads in my stash to decorate the gown, I simply choose the maroon colored ribbon to accessorize the doll's gown.

The whole process was easy and it turned out simply elegant.

And that's for today's post. Have a blessed Monday everyone.
