Inflorescencia amarantiforme

La quinua es un alimento milenario cuyo origen es el altiplano (Perú-Bolivia). Los diminutos granos de quinua son muy ricos en proteínas (14%). Actualmente se siguen realizando investigaciones para mejorar el cultivo de quinua y obtener resistencia a factores adversos (helada, enfermedades, sequías, etc.), rendimiento y calidad de grano. Entre las principales variedades desarrolladas tenemos: Pasankalla, Negra Ccollana, Amarilla Sacaca, Amarilla Maranganí, Salcedo INIA, Blanca de Hualhuas – UNALM, Rosada de Junín – UNALM, entre otros.
Quinoa is an ancient food whose origin is the altiplano (Peru-Bolivia). The tiny quinoa grains are very rich in protein (14%). Currently, research is being carried out to improve quinoa cultivation and to obtain resistance to adverse factors (frost, diseases, drought, etc.), yield and grain quality. Among the main varieties developed are: Pasankalla, Negra Ccollana, Amarilla Sacaca, Amarilla Maranganí, Salcedo INIA, Blanca de Hualhuas - UNALM, Rosada de Junín - UNALM, among others.
Una vez que sabemos los datos generales, vamos a ver el paso a paso para tejer las inflorescencias de quinua. Estas pueden ser de diversos colores, entre tonos rojizos hasta blancos. Esta vez tejí los de color amarillo por ser los más comunes.
Once we know the general information, let's see the step by step to weave the quinoa inflorescences. These can be of different colours, from reddish to white. This time I wove the yellow ones because they are the most common.
Materiales/ materials:
- Hilos de algodón (4 hebras) / Cotton thread (4 strands)
- crochet 2 mm
- tijera / scissor
- napa siliconada / silicone coating
- aguja lanera / wool needle
- alfileres con cabeza / headed pins
- alambre galvanizado delgado / thin galvanised wire
- silicona fría / cold silicone
A tejer/ To weave:
- Abreviaturas / abbreviations:
pb / sc : punto bajo
aum / inc : aumento
dis / dec : disminución
Fig 1. Iniciar con un anillo mágico, luego se tejer 6 puntos.
Fig 2. De la ronda 2 hasta la 4, tejer los 6 puntos en cada ronda. Finalmente en la ronda 5, tejer (1pb, 1dis)x 3, obteniendo 4 puntos. Cerrar el tejido y dejar hebra de 10cm de largo.
Fig 3. Tejer 8 piezas (glomérulos), las cuales se unirán entre sí, formando la "inflorescencia amarantiforme". Procurando que la parte de la base sea rectangular.
Fig. 4. Cortar 6cm de alambre galvanizado delgado (lo venden en las librerías o en las tiendas de manualidades). Y forrar con hilo del mismo color que la inflorescencia. Colocar la silicona fría a medida que se va forrando. Dejar sin forrar la parte donde se incrustará con la inflorescencia y ponerle silicona.

Fig 2. From round 2 to round 4, knit the 6 stitches in each round. Finally in round 5, knit (1pb, 1dis)x 3, making 4 stitches. Close the weave and leave a strand of 10cm long.

Cut 6cm of thin galvanised wire (sold in bookshops or craft shops). And line it with wire of the same colour as the inflorescence. Apply the cold silicone as you line it. Leave the part where the inflorescence will be embedded with the inflorescence unlined and put the silicone on it.
