Amigurumi #104: Personalizados VII, tamaño pequeño / Personalised VII, small size

Cada vez que acepto un pedido personalizado, es todo un reto. Hasta diría que es menos complicado tejer un personaje conocido. Esta vez el cliente quiso un personalizado con ojos bordados, cosa que recién intenté hacerlo. Y allí va la aventura.

Every time I accept a custom order, it's a challenge. I would even say it's less complicated to knit a well-known character. This time the customer wanted a personalised one with embroidered eyes, which I just tried to do. And there goes the adventure.

Materiales /materials :

• Hilos de algodón (4 hebras) / Cotton thread (4 strands)
• crochet 2 mm
• tijera / Scissor
• napa siliconada / Silicone coating
• aguja lanera / Wool needle
• hilo de bordar / Embroidery thread
• alfileres con cabeza / Headed pins
• alambre galvanizado / galvanised wire

A tejer/ To weave:

Un punto importante es que mis diseños de patrones pequeños (12 centímetros de altura / 5 pulgadas) por lo general llevan la ropa pegada al cuerpo. Al ser pequeños una chompa le quedaría enorme, deformando la anatomía del amigurumi. Se comenzó el tejido por los pies (fig. 1), luego se formó el cuerpo (fig. 2 y 3).

An important point is that my small pattern designs (12 centimetres high / 5 inches) usually have the clothes attached to the body. Since they are small, a jumper would be too big, deforming the anatomy of the amigurumi. The weaving started with the feet (fig. 1), then the body was formed (fig. 2 and 3).

Aquí vino lo difícil, el bordado de los ojos. Al ser pequeño, fue realmente complicado el bordado (fig. 4). Para esto se utilizó hilo de bordad color café, negro y blanco. Debo confesar que al inicio no me agradó como estaba quedando. Luego se le tejió el cabello, el saco y las manos con mangas (fig. 5). Seguido de los lentes y las botas (fig. 6). Cierto, las botas son extraíbles a manera de accesorios. Además, me agrada bastante el estilo de tener los zapatos enormes, así el personaje mantendrá el equilibrio.

Here came the difficult part, the embroidery of the eyes. Being small, the embroidery was really complicated (fig. 4). For this I used brown, black and white embroidery thread. I must confess that at first I didn't like the way it was turning out. Then the hair, the jacket and the hands with sleeves were knitted (fig. 5). Followed by the glasses and the boots (fig. 6). Right, the boots are removable as accessories. Also, I quite like the style of having the huge shoes, so the character will keep his balance.

Entre los accesorios adicionales tenemos: una mascarilla negra, una bufanda negra (figura de la portada) y un casco de color verde petróleo.

Additional accessories include: a black mask, a black scarf (pictured on the cover) and a petrol green helmet.

 Dato curioso: En esta versión también se utilizó alambre galvanizado delgado, a manera de esqueleto interno / In this version, thin galvanised wire was also used as an internal skeleton.
