I made my little Muslim friend a beautiful dress for the Salah celebration

Hello Hive, it's another wonderful week, also a week of celebration for our Muslim brothers and sisters, wishing everyone the best this week.

I've shared in my post in previous times how I've taken up the initiative to declutter my sewing space instead of piling up lots of leftover fabrics, I use these fabrics in making new dresses for mostly children because they are little and making their dresses don't consume too much fabrics compared to making same outfit for an adult, as some of these leftover fabrics are not enough to make a full dress sometimes, I combine fabrics to design a stylish dress.

Since it's the Muslim Salah celebration this week, I decided to make a dress for a Muslim girl named Zainab, she is my neighbour's daughter, she's about my daughter's age, and attends the same school as her, We met on Thursday last week to get their report card from their school. I naturally just find joy in making little girls' dresses, So I sought permission from her mother to make her this beautiful dress, she was excited and wondered if I read her mind because she sadly couldn't afford to make her daughter a new dress this Salah due to some financial challenges she currently has to settle, knowing about this made me felt sorry she is going through hard time, and glad that I could be of help at the same time because I feel I'm positively impacting lives and unburdening parents with my skill and initiative, it is not a waste of time, sometimes I get this thought, but now I'm more than motivated to still keep doing my best to reach out to my society in my own little way.

I've had this shimmery blue fabric, for a long time, not sure of what to make of it, but now, being intentional about putting them to good use is helping me unlock style inspiration ideas.

First, I started by cutting out the upper part of the dress, which is a normal basic bodice for a 3-year-old, after which I turned it using its lining pieces, for both the front and back, I joined them by the shoulders and the sides, also adding belt strip to both sides.

next, I cut out a full circle, using her waist measurement as the radius, then I sewed it around the upper part of the dress.

the shimmery blue fabric is very light, and I wanted the dress to have a rich bouncy look, to achieve this, I pleated hard net on the lining part of the circle flare before sewing it into the dress.

And finally, the sleeves, I was scrolling through Pinterest when I got inspired by the sleeves, so I thought to try them out in this dress, it's like a puffy sleeve with elastic attached before the hem of the dress, and I also attached a zipper at the back.

I bet she will look like a little pretty princess in her dress, religion doesn't have to be a barrier, share in other's joy, give a helping hand, and let love lead.
